FTR, CNJ isn't a tank, but its required for one. And it's suggested to take to 34 for Stoneskin.

Eh, I'm not getting any of these problems personally.
As a Dragoon, I have 2 whole skills I don't use regularly, and latency isn't bad enough that I can't double-weave my oGCDs. Don't have any cross-class skills that were difficult to get in any way, and I was leveling pugilist anyway.

My only complaint about the new jobs is that I always thought they would use it as an opportunity to make player that were never a tank/healer be convinced to play it. That they'll have thier own version of very essential skills like provoke/swift cast.
Too bad people will still be forced to level a class they dont was to get that skill. good its fast to level now
Having new abilities just to have abilities is bad.
They could have added traits that improve existing abilities (instead of direct replacements because of level sync) and put an ultimate awesome ability at 55 and 60 or even just 60.
Blood of the dragon's proc effect could have been handled differently.
And hosting the servers on a better network would help with lag by a ton. I shouldn't have to pay for tunneling because of their crap. The network host they use is a business cloud full of redundancies. Adds up to lag.
Says who? You? Please dont speak for me.
Some of the skills you listed a few pages back do come in handy, especially while you are leveling. Here is the catcher though, EVERYONE'S PLAYSTYLE IS DIFFERENT. Period. Who are you to say what shall and shant be? Your complaints of the DK skills in the post I'm snip quoting dont cry bloat to me, they cry revamp.
To the first bolded point -- this sums up your dismal attitude. Sure, some skills at ENDGAME arent very usefull because they are low level abilities. Lets take BLM for example. Yet take those skills away and now you have crap to use while you are leveling.
Also you throw everquest in your first post (along with many other MMO's (aside from diablo but even then) and talk about freedom. What freedom? Choice is an illusion in EVERY MMO. Every single one. The only "choice" you get would maybe be in wow. Even then there is no freedom. Each build has a set of skills that are required to be the best at your spec. Everquest has SO MUCH BLOAT its not even funny. I played that for 10 years, trust me I know.
My only sort of agreement is that the combat system in general is kind of lackluster to the effect that its more obvious in XIV that there is no "freedom".
whats wrong with botd's proc effect? It adds fun to the balance of geirskogal and keeping the buff on. Personally, I love it.

Two abilities that do the exact same thing is fun?
Could have done one single one, but have a potency bonus when doing it from one side or the other, whichever one procs. Stick an onscreen element that shows up showing which flank to attack from for the bonus. Win.
Oh you mean wheeling thrust and fang and claw, not botd. Yes, I agree that they could have just made one that works for both flank and side.
(just to clarify im not trying to be an ass, the way you described it was off)
yeah, hadn't had coffee yet. Still before noon at that point. ><

Abilities are fine as they are now, but I can't imagine SE wanting to make it more complicated going from 60 to 70. I would think some things would have to be cut out if they added more abilities in. Rotations for a lot of jobs right now are very long as it is.

There's also nothing ironic about what they posted either. I get the feeling they may be one of those people that makes up their own definition to things.
