Fill in all the details including the /tell or /say (this part is a must do). The GMs are either too lazy, unable to look up the /tell or /say, or scan chat logs themselves and will NOT burn the bot unless the bots spammy advert is included in your report. Then sit back and watch the bot disappear within the next 5-10 mins. Or go about your business. Either way, a GM reply will make its way to you minutes after the bot disappears.

On another note, some of the /say bots have tried to hide/disguise themselves, either by having their bot targeting the summoning bell (like a lv1 can have retainers...), or in the case of Ul'dah markets bots, they are sometimes lalafells instead of the generic midlander. If you're just doing a quick scan for bots, they can be easily overlooked if all you are looking for is the generic lv1 midlander that just stands there doing nothing (and stands out like a sore thumb).
