We started on day 1 as well. We even formed during beta (useless effort in the long run), and many of those beta players bought the game, started on the same server as us, played for a few days and quit. There is about 20 of them right there. I owned my own LS in FFXI as well, never had these kind of problems then. So I don't understand why they had to make it so difficult for FFXIV.

^.^ Yeah, that feature would be handy so LS leaders would know who has quit and hasn't played recently so they could be kicked.

    I'm joking
I was trying to spark some life into the game, I don't play MMOs to roll solo so I invited all the people that were in my beta shell then all the new and cool people I met on the way. Sadly the game was not to their liking and they quit without warning.

Yea my shell was in beta and the same happened with my LS just not as many because nobody wanted to do anything but solo leves in Kefka beta until i found my LS mates. I had a few people from my XI shell come to Trabia with me aswell but only 2 of the 6 that came log in once a week or so. :<

Don't know why I skipped past this one, but i just saw it. This feature wouldn't really be necessary because if you wanted to, you can just look them up on lodestone (or if you are fancy like my LS, you can have a roster on your LS website that has all that info.)

Was thinking of an additional feature, maybe the option to Change LS name? Maybe Chat with the LS NPC to change the name. Maybe even pay some gil to do so?

I added that one mainly because it was one of the staple features in the XI LS sytem which worked well. Class/Rank/Location/Nation was all displayed in a very neat and well put together fashion. You could kick/promote/demote members whether they are offline or on opposite side of the world. They didn't need to be online or standing next to you.

The one missing feature XI was lacking LS wise was ability to pass on leadership so when the leaders bailed on LS a member had to make a new LS and pass out pearls to the members of the old LS.

All things listed in the OP are great adds to the LS system.

I would also add including more ranks and options to give to ranks and a menu for the LS showing messages, notes for characters, and would be awesome if a LS forum or event point tracker could implemented into this LS menu. The forum thing is a bit much to ask for but I think it's still cool.

I Really really agree with the ability to delete inactive LS members since it is frustrating to keep rebuilding an LS when it becomes full and can't invite new members cuz the inactive members have all but filled up the spaces permanently. Also the the Ability to rename an LS would also be nice.

That's true, but some people just don't do online forums or anything outside the game for that matter and this would allow more than just 1 message to be posted for people to check. I don't mean like intricate forum it could just be 1 simple thread that those with permission can change the name of the topic at any time and that those with permission can post messages.

Think of it as a casual forum for a casual purpose.

One option I dont see which might be good is a "personal message", i've seen this in other games and XI kind of had it but it was on the Friendslist and only in playonline, not ingame.

A personal message be useful for if someone is going away on holiday or something he can put the message there so the leader doesnt boot him, be similar to windows live messenger personal message.

the way it could be shown without making the window cluttered is each member has a mini profile, so in the ls list you'd click a member and instead of the mini menu a profile box appears (similar to /check) which shows information about the character such as last login, location, online/offline, personal message, then buttons to /tell, /kick /promote etc

Thats a good idea, sadly I just can't see SE putting work into the LS system to that extent unless we can get the community to mass behind it. I'm all for it, simplifies the LS screen a ton with most if not all of the suggestions in my post.
