    Few questions about Moogles in Churning Mists

    I've been lurking for some info about the Moguris up there, and I was quite confused on the Main Scenario story. I bet I can get a better explanation here on forums ._.;

    Were they "born" there? Or they're just survivors from the Fire era?

    And what about Good King Moogle Mog XIII?

    Sorry for the generic questions but I'd like to know what you guys know about them (I still haven't finished all the quests there, I'm saving them for other jobs).

    Thanks!

    Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?

    Without knowing the average moogle's lifespan... tough to guess. Going on some later quests up there I'm pretty sure they're not ageless, though, so I would wager that they were in fact born up there and are descendants of survivors from the Calamity of Fire.

    Not sure but for whatever reason the fluffballs are good at surviving up there, I'm really curious as to why Nidhogg's brood didn't try to attack moghome already... Either they think they're not worthy to even bother or Hasvalgar really does protect them... *shrug*

    I take pride in the fact I have eliminated every quest related icon from my Heavnsward map. There's a level 59 quest chain that begins in The Pillars that will answer all of your questions.

    Once the Forrest Moogles and the Mist Moogles convene, you learn that the first Chieftain was Moggle. Kupli Kuki then figures out that Moggle must have been changed to Moggle Mog as stories were passed down through the generations. Moggle was also Moglin's ancestor. It is also determined that the current Pomguard is likely descended from Mogguard of legend. The Mist Moogles also have a legend of a group of moogles who went down the world below, seeking to look for a safe place for all mooglekind to hide from the wars between man and dragon. They unfortunately did not return, but are remembered as brave pioneers the world below. It is also determined Mist Moogles have Mog based names in honor of Moggle (though no one knows for sture) while Shroud Moogles have Kupo based names because they're easier to say. Lastly, the Moggles who went down below brought Kupo nuts with them which is why both groups are kupo for kuponuts.

    Some members of the Pomgaurd are actually extremely competent badasses. During some of the quests, you'll come back from slaying some dragons to find the corpses of more dragons lying slaughtered at the feet of stronger pomgaurd members.

    Moogles clearly lay vast swarms of eggs like fish, snakes etc. This mass breeding of moogles counters the dangers of being eaten by dragons, their inability to find theirway home etc.

    Spoilers for the lvl 59 Moogle quest and the lvl 60 BRD story quest in the second paragraph:

    The story as it is pieced together is that long ago the Moogles all lived on a land in the sky. Then one day a disaster happened. The Moggles speak of fire raining from the sky. This is very likely a calamity. The disaster shattered the land upon which they lived into countless small sky islands. The Moogles who survived the disaster found their lands destroyed and greatly reduced. Struggling with lack of space the Chieftain of the time Moggle Mog called for volunteers to seek out new land for Moggle kind. These Moggles descended from the sky with kupo nuts and never returned.

    Its worth noting that a 3rd group of Moggles also survived. In the Sea of Clouds you can find Moggle structures. During the BRD Job quest you discover that the Moggles of these lands once befriended a Siren but the Siren turned on them and slaughtered them with her cursed songs. The survivors sealed her in a wardstone but clearly didn't remain. My guess is they moved to settle in Moghome.

    That would seem to suggest that the Churning Mists and Sea of Clouds were originally part of the same continent, wouldn't it? I kind of doubt moogles could fly from one to the other.
