But gear being tied to rank is one of the main reasons why people still continue the grind
Its a good incentive and rewards players who slug through the hundreds of matches to reach that rank, why deprive them from this "achievement" just cause you want it?

For some maybe but not for everyone, gear is just nice perk buuuut if it has CRIT/DET in it then i actually want it for more deeps. I mainly do it for fun/time killing after raids/between crafting etc.. and its also fun to mindgame against opponents and then own them hard, or outplaying those pesky SMN and makeing their "iwin" fail thus leading their miserable death or cowardly retreat. Pissing peoples off is most enjoyable thing you can do in pvp and that alone is reward itself.

PS: When you kill SMN in pvp nowdays dont forget to do some T-Bagging, it will make some of them infuriated and that feels good mon ^_^

Wow, there is some trolling going on here by this person or they don't get how the PvP is suppose to work in this game.
The gear is a "Status" symbol in PvP that you have played enough to "earn" that gear and those who do PvP "know" what that gear means and looks like and what you had to do to get it. You cannot just have it for free to glamour on your battle classes...you can glamour and get the iLv110 gear if you like that but you do need the rank to "deserve" to wear the better gear. You have to put in the time & effort and then you can have it.
I am putting in a ton of time on it now that I found the version I like (Seal Rock) and earning my gear and having a blast with this great community. I use to hate PvP but once I have really tried it now it is soooo AWESOME!!!! Go Adders on Behemoth!!!

This is why I'm mad that animal gear can be purchased by newbie people. Our effort to increase pvp rank become useless because all of this whining people who want "VANITY STUFF? MAKE FREE PLS!!!1!!11!" *cringe intensifies*
