New lancer stats (patch 19)

Hello all, I am slightly confused with the new attribute stats for lancers.
At 46 I got 170 Vit and 186 piety (and dex being at 185) . I got more magical acc. than meele Acc.
And currently have less def than any other stat.
Any Ideas? Did I miss out on something? Why are lancers made to be so very "magical".

Sorry if this has been brought up before, perhaps I did too little research.

with the abolition of the psychical level, the stats have been completely reoverhaul, so that is what the stat is now. is nothing strange, but they may will be doing some balancing.

Also "Dated" gear has terrible, terrible stats and Optimal Level may as well be Required level

Currently what I'm using:

Main: Champion's Lance +1
Head: Cobalt Elmo (Red)
Body: Cobalt Haubergeon (Red)
Hands: Felt Bracers (Blue)
Legs: Felt Trousers (Red)
Feet: Cobalt Sollerets (Red)

Well unfortunately there's not much information since the patch is so new. The best theory I've heard as far as all the PTY is concerned is that Dragoon's tend to have some MP-based abilities, so this could be a prelude to jobs being released.

As far as gear, there are several options available. There are Haubergeons (Mythril, Cobalt) and Scale Mail (Tortoiseshell, etc.) for body pieces. There are some new pants/legs to be had, and some of the "dated" gear can be replaced with the same item but made with new recipes.

As far as dated gear goes, yea the stats suck, but I think the way they will remove all of this from the game is through the Spiritbond system.

i wonder about the magic stats being for dragoon. i would think changing into a job would change your stats, as a way to set a job apart from a class. if that was the case why not give magic stats to the dragoon but not the lancer? just a thought i had could be completely wrong.

I don't think they're going to separate jobs and classes like that. From what I understood, jobs will be more of an "extension" of the class, and separate party/solo play. Think of jobs like a specialized talent tree from other MMOs, except without the choice of going down other paths. They have talked about potentially adding more jobs or "advanced jobs" to classes in the future though.

felt trousers(red) ( with 2 materia added now def 130 hp+23 str+21 vit +16 dex +7)
Cobalt vembraces ( +26 att added)
Cobalt plated jackboots(+16 magic eva)
dated tarred vyagers belt
Mythril choker
str+7 ring X2

I'll be purging and upgrading materia as I get better ones. may have the helmet and feet adds the wrong way round. Attack power sitting at 542, def at 519.

not the best equip but I'm not a fan of haubergeon or the coif current attack is 510 with no materia yet and sitting at about 2900 health.
