Just to rule it out... did you set up port forwarding, or are you configured to use UPnP? Static forwarding can definitely knacker you up if your wired connection is getting a different IP on the router than your wireless, and UPnP has been known to be flaky on a lot of hardware as well. Might want to try disabling them if either is set up to see if things get smoother. The router's native NAT should manage the game's traffic just fine on it's own. (to that end, could try turning off IPV6 on the laptop as well--SE wasn't using it last time I tested for it and it can do some odd things sometimes in a mixed environment).
