Meh, people who really want to bar based on dps already can. They just can't tell you, so suddenly you're kicked with no idea what you did or how to prevent it from happening again. All this would do is make it more open. Something becoming more visible doesn't mean there's more of it. We already have lots of broken parties.

On the other side, I've seen "can anyone tell me what I parsed on that one?" more often than I've seen harassment over parses with things as they are now.

But really, I think people overestimate the "elitism" in ffxiv. If you're doing your basic rotation correctly, using cooldowns, and so on, then 99% of the population will have no issue whatsoever with you. Even if you're still learning but are at least attempting to pull your own weight, people won't mind. It's the people who make the conscious decision to just put their responsibilities (whether it's dps or mechanics) on other party members that draw ire with any consistency.

And that's all assuming that it would become the standard, which itself is still hypothetical.

To be honest, I'm getting pretty bored lately. I'd welcome something like parsers or even leaderboards. In dungeons, it doesn't matter whether you kill packs in 30 seconds or in 3 minutes, it's like anything a good player can achieve in this game falls into the well of irrelevance.
I'm currently attempting savage with a static, A1S and A2S cleared, and the difficulty from A3S is more about arranging things to properly deal with mark swaps and intercepting tethers with server delay than anything else xD. It's not making the cut for me lately. I'm just mindlessly crafting food and amassing millions of gil, I mean, it's really the only half long term goal I can set, because there aren't any others.
You are good in PVP? Have fun seeing your actions triviallized by a million players (frontlines). No leaderboards, no ranked, no anything.
You are good at killing stuff fast in dungeons? Doesn't matter, it's not reflected anywhere.
You are good at...chocobo racing? Congrats Timmy, you are the winner! (nobody else even attempts chocobo racing).
You are good at...triple triad? Have fun win trading and beating AIs xD.
Would it hurt so much that good players in this game were...slightly rewarded for performing well at something? The entire game feels more about doing 5 year old grinds, getting a cool looking weapon and afking in ydilshire; some people might be pleased with that, I'm certainly not.

---Status of the Beginner Hall

The Beginner Hall (tentative name), is essentially a training mode. We’re currently in the midst of fleshing out what kind of training would work for each job and the training regime. We don’t expect to make it in time for Patch 3.1, but we would like to implement it in the subsequent patch.

Could this be our own official parser?
