Are we really getting a Dps parsing dummy?

Just out of curiosity . I remember reading this somewhere this week but it kinda sounded a bit off from the translation.

Personally I think is an amazing idea in order for us to get better (to improve your base dps) with a clear idea of our true damage.

Having played fighting games for over 3 decades, a training mode was a must for me to get better and create New ways to strong combos. I know a fighting game and a rpg are a totally different thing BUT the end goal is the same.

Was just wondering if this was true. As it would be ideal

A randomly linked google doc with questionable translation methods and sources seems to claim so.

While it'd be nice if we did get it, I doubt it will solve most cases of poor DPS.

I guess an analogy would be: most people who could benefit from spending some quality time at the gym don't.

I'd be more happy if they introduced a fight parse instead (be it public or otherwise.)

Why not give a personal parser though. A dummy parser only gives you a general idea of what you can do, not how you're actually doing in a real fight situation.

Honestly its probably more PS3 limitations. Its a lot easier to free up UI memory space when youre in 'dummy training mode' rather than just adding the UI pop-up on top of whats already there in a dungeon/raid. This should suffice though... its not real world training but itll still allow us to practice and tweak rotations and compare with other classes. Once you have that then applying it to a real fight is really just "dummy rotation" + avoid getting hit.

Who knows. Maybe theyll get innovative and throw in an actual script for the dummy to toss out low damage AoE patterns to avoid.

Especially because they don't want anyone to judge how you do in a real fight situation.
They suppose that some leaders will ask you how much your DPS displays, so you'll have the incentive to lie if you fear that you're not doing enough...

And a dummy parser is enough to min-max your gear and broadly improve your rotations. It's a training mode.

If you parse exceedingly well on a dummy, chances are, you'd parse well in a fight. The knowledge of how to maintain stacks, buffs, DoTs, and other systems doesn't magically disappear when you walk into a raid. It takes time to fine-tune for mechanics, of course. But otherwise, a dummy parse is a pretty great tell of someone's ability to DPS. The only thing that's different about most fights is how to DPS when an add is involved. At that point, you need understanding of how to multi-dot if your Job is well capable, but that's about it.

Frankly, if they wanted better performance, they should streamline the DD jobs so they aren't overly complicated and introduce more content that requires actively coordinating with other players to the leveling experience. Furthermore, they should be removing DD checks so people have time to type during combat. Players who are dealing with ten minute long fights should have plenty of opportunities to communicate, instead of assuming they rely on VOIP that may or may not be available. If they don't support addons, then they should design the game to be playable without VOIP.

Also make it more easier for tanks to hold aggro and remove heal checks.
Why should DD be the only role that get an easy mode for chatting?
