    I Think we're seeing the beginning of a major faction split on the horizon, by just talking to NPCs around Ishgard and beyond, when you complete 3.0's story. Some of them are not happy that the Holy See has been accused of lying about history, and the church is currently being forced to revise their scripture. There's also npcs that talk about how they are slow to accept that many people are interested in Sharlayan astrology now. In other words, rapid change is making a lot of people grumble because it means a shift in politics that gives the commoners more power.

    Maybe someone will get desperate enough and sell out to the Garleans. Now's a good time to attack Coerthas, with the flagship so near and the people so pre-occupied. Garleans can give the excuse that the Emprah is in terrible danger.
