Uuuh, to conserve her life force couldn't she go blind when she didnt need to see? Like in privet when she's relaxing or something?

Surly she's not pulling a Thancred and literally working herself to death. She must be taking a break simetime. It'd be really simmiler to when I take my glasses off IRL to ease my eye streign.

I don't get the impression that Y'shtola's aetheric sight is something she can turn off at this point.

I actually wonder about Y'shtola's method of seeing. The dialog we had made it sound like it was very taxing. Interestingly, in the follow up quests in Motoya's cave a crystal eye that Motoya uses to help her read the Aether is mentioned. I'm wondering if this or an object like it may come into play in the future to aid Y'shtola and lessen the stress using Aether to see puts on her.

Well, in the original Final Fantasy Matoya was a blind witch who needed her crystal eye to see...

... so, maybe. Remember, anything is possible!

    Unless Cilia
personally thinks otherwise or finds it annoying, at least. >_>

But yeah, Matoya definitely falls into the "of all the cameos to introduce now" class of future character relevance hooks. I'm thinking the blindness subplot and the witch with the all-seeing crystal eye are probably not going to be unrelated. If we run into a Duskwight Thaumaturge with a name that sounds like "Astos," then it's a sure thing. I suppose there would be certain "bubble" issues with Matoya's riddle quests if she gave the eye to Y'shtola, but I also suspect they'll burn that bridge when they get to it.

Hey now, while I will point to evidence against theories I will never outright state anything is utterly impossible.

Logically speaking, no matter how improbable it may be, nothing is impossible. Hence why I try and deal in probabilities, not possibilities.

I considered something like this for saving Estinien. Theoretically the Echo could allow us to 'barge in' to the fused Estinien and Nidhogg and forcibly pull Estinien or Nidhogg out. The WoL really only uses a fraction of the Echo's potential, though that probably is both a mixture of restraint and lack of experience.

That could be done by a much stronger Echo user, possibly even one who has lost her corporeal vessel...
