Thread: *SPOILERS!* A roadmap from 3.1 to 4.0

And you don't need combat kill shots to make characters shine. Look at Haurchefant, by far the game's most popular character. He doesn't really have any glowing moments of badassery but when he shows up to fight alongside you he's always right on time and he shelters your character in the story when nobody else will.

I don't think Minfilia needs to start fighting but, like Haur, she could start proactively helping us. Even Tataru Taru does more in that she clothes the Scions. The problem with Minfilia is she gets kidnapped and sends us on errands and that's it. What if she did things like enchanted the gear Tataru made? What if, story wise, the Echo can do more than we thought? She could teach us to use it. There are so many ways she could support us without being "in the field" so to speak. I actually hope if/when she returns she starts doing that. I do not dislike Minfilia but I really hated how she was framed.

You and G'raha how? Is it that 8/10 of my last few posts have something to do with Gatomon? It is in my financial interest that Digimon Rumble Arena 2 does well so I am doomed to keep mentioning Gatomon.

Okay but in all seriousness I do mention him here because he's a good example of a character that didn't need to be flying around with a laser sword to be likable. Minfilia certainly doesn't need to start dropping fireballs all over either, to get my respect. I also do think when she comes back she will have the Heavensward level of care, or at least I hope she does, assuming Heavensward can continue what it started with Y'shtola. I never got a strong sense of Y'shtola in 2.x but she was amazing in Heavensward. Learning more about these people who are supposed to be so important to us would be lovely. My hopes are high because characterization so far has been amazing. My favorite character in the game is Estinien, someone I only saw once or twice in 2.x. Alphinaud's arc is also really strong.

SE will give Minfilia the same treatment, I'm sure.... Or kill her off for some reason (yikes).

We're all doomed to our favorites. I had hopes for Minfilia once they announced Miyuki Sawashiro as her Japanese VA, and it's been really hard to reconcile that with her present characterization. But there's always hope!

Speaking of, I'm wondering if she'll change VAs like almost everyone else when she comes back.

Let's not forget that Y'shtola is consuming her own aether to "see", even if she keeps it a secret Motoya told her (and us).

Uuuh, to conserve her life force couldn't she go blind when she didnt need to see? Like in privet when she's relaxing or something?

Surly she's not pulling a Thancred and literally working herself to death. She must be taking a break simetime. It'd be really simmiler to when I take my glasses off IRL to ease my eye streign.

I don't get the impression that Y'shtola's aetheric sight is something she can turn off at this point.

I actually wonder about Y'shtola's method of seeing. The dialog we had made it sound like it was very taxing. Interestingly, in the follow up quests in Motoya's cave a crystal eye that Motoya uses to help her read the Aether is mentioned. I'm wondering if this or an object like it may come into play in the future to aid Y'shtola and lessen the stress using Aether to see puts on her.
