This whole thing can be solved pretty easily by the "exception proves the rule" argument. Yes, all the Students of Baldesion we've met so far are MSQ relevant, and G'raha isn't, but that just proves that the Students of Baldesion are important to the MSQ unless it becomes apparent they aren't like G'raha. (It's kind of wonky logic, but if you can grasp the concept it's true.) I had to use this in the "Regula is a woman because she has a feminine name" argument. Until otherwise proven, Regula is, in fact, a man despite having a feminine name because nothing else points to that being true; until otherwise proven, G'raha is, in fact, not MSQ relevant because aside from being a Student of Baldesion nothing points to that being true.

As for the whole series of coincidences that lead up to his introduction (escaped the destruction of the Isle of Val, met Allagan clones who told him his destiny and blah blah blah), it's, y'know, fate. If you believe in that. Otherwise it's just a series of (un)fortunate coincidences.

Indeed, but by that same logic, "hope" (yes, that) warrants discussing all presented NPCs as part of the same cohesive world, and there really is no harm in mentioning the million +1 ways in which a character that overloaded could become a viable NPC again, even for just another side story. Let's face it, we don't really have too many Students of Baldesion or Allagans to choose from right now, besides the one, and both seem likely to become big movers and shakers in the events to come.

Unei (or was it Doga?) said he has a fate "tied" to that of Allag, but that's not the same as having a fate "decided" by Allag. If he ever does come back, I believe that's the distinction that will be made, since Allag still seems to have quite a bit left to its own fate.

You can hear Regula's voice (at least in French) in the Aetherochemical Research Facility, and it's a male voice.

Go here for the whole discussion on that issue.

    Abridged Ver.

    For being a woman
    +Feminine name

    For being a man
    +Masculine build
    +Masculine voice
+Referred to as "Lord van Hydrus," not "Lady van Hydrus"
    +Quest log uses masculine pronouns

The only other things pointing to Regula being a woman are "what if"s, which don't really constitute an argument.

If we do end up in Garlemald in 4.0: I hope we don't have to do an endless chain of sidequests just to hail a cab in the capitol.

But that would be an FFXII reference! Nostalgia first, and all that.

not that far into the story of heavensward yet, but i believe the empire will strike back, whats the likelihood of fighting Varis or Regula soon? Or maybe Regula doing the ole Final Fantasy double cross and killing Varis to become emperor and then seeking power for himself

So, if 4.0 takes us to Ala Mihgo, does that make it Raubahn's Putsch?
