Watch the original e3 ffxiv video, shows how when midgardsormr took down the garlean flagship the resulting crash into silvertear let the lifestream loose upon the land and actually showed primal figures form and spread like dragonballs. I could easily see each msq of 3.xx ending with a new job of darkness, up to 5.

Being echo the power to break boundaries of existence ( i've said that alot lately! damn it !) well, sayng it again. Being Ysayle a very powerful echo user, i would not be surprised if she comes back/ preserves her aether and mind in the aetherflow. I really hope that she comes back, but with this sultana thing. i have little hope, since...

    Nael is dead.... LOLNO- LOLYES!
    Louisoux is dead ... LOLKINDA!
    Sultana is dead.... LOLNO!
    Scions are all dead! LOLNO!

it wouldn't make a bit of sense if Haurchefant comes back, I can see Ysayle coming back to be honest but....

Haurch is dead and buried. I sincerely doubt they would invalidate the emotional impact of that scene by bringing him back "just because".

As is, his importance is directly related to his death.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ysayle comes back. Isn't the echo what technically allows us to respawn?

    Kinda.

I mean Ysayle went down in a blaze of glory but Haurche died in a way that tugs on the heart strings. And the game keeps reminding you of it, unlike with Ysayle. You can cry vengeance for his death, you are seen at his memorial during the credits. The game is saying "He's dead. Be sad. BE SAD" and so far I am sad but I'm not sure why the game keeps manipulating me into that feeling. Vault ended a while ago.

I'm not saying he is coming back to life (after the reset button being hit on Ul'dah that would give me a bad taste in my mouth) but somehow he will probably be manipulated, or his memory will be, to hurt you. Or his spirit will come around to say hello, since Y'shtola can see that stuff now. We also know Ascians can and do possess dead bodies now...

Or I am completely wrong and he continues to rot in peace while we hang out with his family and he never, ever comes up again. That is certainly possible, I don't think he was supposed to be a major lore figure or anything (at least not like Aymeric, Count Fortemps and Ysayle). It could well be his only real purpose was to get us into Ishgard and, having served that purpose, he was axed for drama and the story will leave it there.

Ysayle we can't possibly have seen the last of. She has Echo, and, like Nanamo and unlike Lord Haurchefant she isn't cursed with a red shirt....I mean non-unique character model.

There's also a self running proto weapon in the area, ages of sorta intact Allagan tech, records, preserved experements, dragon and artificial life research, Aeon/Primals/Demi-god research, an early production version of a beast tribe. All around a possibly bigger ship structure in the middle. If the Emperor is on that ship he's going to want all the info and tech that place has to offer and turn it into a floating Garlian Millitarry Research hub/port/base. If their tech is reversed engineered from Allagan relics that place is an forgotten gold mine. Considering we did most of the work clearing out and through the place to stop the holy see. They can easily take their time and upgrade their ship and troops.

I don't want to see the 2.0 story beats repeated but dealing with Garlemald AND the Dravanian Horde? Hm...
The Ilberd vs Raubahn stuff at the end of 2.55 and crossing over into 3.0 was really pushing the Ala'Mhigo point. If nothing else I think Raubahn has been guilt tripped enough to want to liberate his homeland now, and the reunification of the Eorzean Alliance means they finally have the means to do it. I expect to see Ilberd return again to drive that point home at some point. Ala'Mhigo is also the obvious first step in a counter attack against Garlemald. I feel these are things most likely to be reserved for 4.0 though.

It looks to me like we have three major looming threats: the Warring Triad, the Garlean incursion on Azys Lla and the return of Nidhogg. The Warrior of Darkness also has a role to play somewhere but we can only speculate on that for now. The real question at this point is which is the bigger threat? Personally I feel it's the Warring Triad, though I expect the story will focus more on Nidhogg because dragons.

I doubt I'll be particularly interested in anything related to Ala Mhigo if it's as simplistic as liberating it from Garlean control. I'd much prefer to have to put a stop to Ilberd as a result of him being overly hostile and slaughtering even innocent Garleans in his attempt to reclaim his homeland. We really need to see a more sympathetic perspective of the Garlean Empire; perhaps meeting Garlean soldiers who, whilst opposed to us are quite reasonable whilst remaining loyal to their people and homeland above all else.

You know, someone like Judge Drace from FFXII. Or we could get someone like Gabranth instead. Either way I really hope the Garlean Empire isn't just reduced to something to fodder to be destroyed and I do hope I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see Garlemald dismantled? Why can't we just get the extremists out of power and then make some sort of truce that allows us to visit Garlemald for ourselves in the future as allies? I'd find that much more engaging.
