A quick PLD VS DRK DPS check.

Hey all alot of threads saying that PLD has the lowest DPS out of the 3 tanks. It's true but not that much that it requires a major DPS increases or change.

I tried my best to even out the STR stat for DRK and PLD. Here was my set up.

PLD: 910 STR *had sword oath on
DRK: 914 STR *had Dark Side on
*All gear and armor are the same with both using their 200 Weapon. No pots or food was used.

I only did a quick one test run of each class. DRK hit about 939 and PLD 891 I think, aprox.

That's OT DPS. If you want to compare DRK vs PLD MT DPS, make them tank the same boss and you'll see the huge gap. You can't test this by just hitting the dummy in tanking stance tho because DRK needs to be able to be hit for Blood Price, Reprisal and Low Blow.

Yeah and I think even then PLD would be even lower than that, I can do like maybe 2-3 Aggro combos on a boss and that should be it then but PLD you gotta keep constantly doing it to even be ok above aggro not leaving you much space to do any of your potent combos.

99.9% of his statements are wrong. According to him DRK is clunky.

Top End (Which includes all the AOE parses too, so its inflated) Dark Knight is still "RIGHT" between warrior and paladin. On Single target fights Dark Knight is a hair above Paladin.

Those averages from fflogs take into account shitty players and drks that spend the entire fight in grit. A gritless mt drk can and will out dps an ot deliverance war under the right circumstances. I can show you my very own raid parses if you'd like.

Even on the overall parses drk is still closer to war than to pld and the main reason those averages even show drk as far behind war as they do is because drks mt more often and are thus forced into tank stance more often.

People ignore you because you don't know what you're talking about. You're very adamant in other threads about having no interest in Savage; that right there shows us that you aren't really in a position to seriously discuss the endgame tanking meta. Not to mention, anyone and everyone can upload to FFLogs; he's talking about the top potential of the two classes and you're providing what basically amounts to a heap of random numbers from people that aren't necessarily putting out optimal DPS and have widely variable gear levels and raid compositions. It doesn't have anything to do with the point that he's trying to make.

Who cares what 5 dark knights people can do? There are 4 million people playing the game and i'm sure the four guilds that actually clear Savage... did you actually see how abysmally low the clear rate is? Nobody cares about savage because its stupid. Your throwing your face at a DPS check! *gulfclap!* Any sane person will just wait for it to be nerfed or not do it.

For example, the reason Blizzard won't buff Arthas, is because one Korean player is just absolutely AMAZING with him. He is the entire reason they won't buff him, isn't that a bit silly? That is your argument.
