Toss up between Hildy and the first time you meet his dad and what Jandelaine does to the lalafell after you give him his tools back.

    1. From the original FFXIV, when Gaius Van Baelsar fought the Scions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h8TKeXk5eA

    2. MSQ from 2.0, the cutscene where Ultima Weapon took on three primals at once: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9ECyz3Kgx4

    3. Heavensward when Haurchefaunt died, not because he died but because of how emotional the sequence was for a lot of people, it's really hard to get that kind of reaction in an MMORPG.

Every GSM cutscene involving Gigi. As much as I love Haurchefant, that snarky little mammet was amazing. It was actually really encouraging when he told me my work wasn't complete and total trash!

From your lips to Yoshi-P's ears. And I'd never use another mount again >_>.

Haurchefant *WILL* come back in some form. I am a million percent sure of this.

The 2.0 Goldsmith cutscene where a lalafell does a flying headbutt towards a npc. I did not see that one comming.

EDIT: Here is the link to the scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NP9dKsq7NA

'Killing' Nanamo at the end of 2.55. She should've stayed dead, imo, too. Much lost potential for drama, presumably forced by a lack of desire for dynamic instance states, (new players need to go to Ul'dah, can't turn it into a persistent war zone for expansion owners, without killing the population there for the newcomers.)

I'm hoping the other missing Scions aren't treated with the same hand-wave approach. Y'shtola was explainable, given her ability, but the others? There needs to be consequences for Y'shtola's actions too. Sure her eyes let on to her having 'drained' something of herself during the leap, but there needs to be more on that, rather than just a pretty character redesign.

The close of 2.0 - 2.55 was one of the best moments of the game so far, 1.0 included. It felt a lot like playing an entry in the mainstream Final Fantasy RPG line. That puts it head-and-shoulders above most other generic MMOs out there, and is a trend I'd love to see maintained.

I loved all of the 3.0 main scenario cut scenes. WoL had feelings. And, on top of that, characters actually held objects instead of looking at the palm of their hand. I think they did an excellent with the cut scenes and the characters this patch.

There have been few times where NPC including her mentor have told her that her new sight to see only via aether is draining her lifeforce. I think as the storyline continues, we will see a weaker Y'shtola, untill we get the quest to save her life. A sidequest has hinted that there is a item which can give people sight, but not at the cost of draining their lifeforce. I reckon we will find this item when the time comes.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out later that it's not actually Shtola, or that she actually died in the lifestream, and we brought her back, akin to summoning Shiva, or Moggle Mog. I'd be okay with either choice, to be fair. Alphinauld grew up a lot during 3.0, and he's much less the irritation than he used to be. Concentrating on a small party and fresh companions during the roadtrip portion of the MSQ made for a much more interesting game, with a fluid narrative and lots of character development. Bringing all the old faces back doesn't overly appeal to me, as the status quo was beginning to feel samey. Returning to ping-ponging between never-changing NPCs was dull, and no one should be cutscene immortal, so to speak.

WoD showing up is exciting. I love the idea finally digging a bit deeper into the Chaos mythology.
