Question about some old content

I started playing this game like 2 weeks before heavensward was released. I did all of the main story in ARR and am currently doing the heavensward main story. However it never directed me to do some things I was interested in doing. I still want to do them but I don't know how to gain access to these things:

-I hear this game has cloud of darkness from FF3. How do I fight her?
-I also hear this game has Gilgamesh. How do I fight him?
-How do I start the quest chain that lets me do the crystal tower raid (I hear its rich in lore regarding the allaghan empire which I am curious about).

Your first and third questions are actually related. You can find how to start the quest chain on the lodestone at http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...=3&category3=6. It all begins with the Legacy of Allag quest, which starts at Mor Dhona (21, 8); the NPC to start the quest is Outlandish Man. Cloud of Darkness is the final boss of the Crystal Tower trilogy, when you and 23 others go to the World of Darkness.

Gilgamesh, as well as several other prominent Final Fantasy figures from past games, can be challenged through the Hildebrand quest line. Details of the questline can be found at http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...9&category3=19. The starting NPC is Wymond located at Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (9, 8).

Cloud of Darkness is in the 3rd Crystal Tower raid.
Quest chain starts with "Legacy of Alleg" in Mor Dhona.

Gilgamesh is fought in the Hildebrand questline. Starts with "The Rise and Fall of a Gentleman" in Ul'dah.

You must do Hildebrand and watch the cutscenes (read the walls of text too) its fracking hilarious! And the fights are pretty damn fun too, some of the best content in the game IMO XD

People have already answered your questions, but regarding the Crystal Tower 24-man raids; be prepare for a LONG LONG LONG queue.
Dungeons and trials have roulettes to keep people going back to them and shorten queues for first timers - but the 24-man raids are unsupported atm so no one's actually doing them to my knowledge.

I have a friend in the same situation. Strange thing is the Legacy of Allag quest does not appear for them. I want to take them into CT but hearing how vacant it is now makes me sad. Hopefully they come out with a mid tier roulette once the new raid drops in 3.1. SE has done a good job so far in keeping most of the older content relevant, I just worry how long they will be able to keep it up.

yeah, not many people does the crystal tower stuff anymore since poetics are easily obtainable now, no need to do it other than glamours, try to unlock them and queue while you level crafting or other solo stuff, or do a low man uncapped party of 7 lvl 60 people and have fun figuring out how low man it.

currently it will be nearly impossible to fight the cloud anymore since its dead content imo. blame the level cap raise for that.

outside of that gilgamesh shouldnt be a problem to fight. just do hilidquest. he is part of it and is also part of duty roulette trials which alot of people still run daily.

you can still start and do some of the tower questline. but getting into the 3 towers will be nearly impossible currently except if you are willing to wait countless hours for it. maybe they will adress that with patch 3.1 but anytime before that probaly not. i would say wait for 3.1 and check then again.

you cannot do that on towers sadly. so forget it. unsyncd doesnt work on towers.
