BUT I had no idea there were different level dailies from different NPCs... somehow I seem to recall there is a max limit of 6 of the beast dailies one can do each day (correct?).

It used to be 6. They've now increased it to 12 per day. Each quest giver only offers 3 quests per day, though, so you need to rank up a bit before you can use them all on the same beast tribe. (Once you're at "Trusted" reputation level, for instance, you can do the three Trusted quests, three Friendly quests, three Recognized quests, and three Neutral quests, with each rank of quests coming from a different NPC. Before then, you can only do all 12 quests by dividing them between different Beast Tribes.)
