Ser Charibert, Who has priority in moving with chains?

    So, topic title.

If I'm a melee dps, who needs to be close by to Ser Charibert, and I and the healer get chained together, who was standing right next to me when we got chained, who's at blame for not moving away in time which resulted in the death of myself?

I ask this because the healer (who was honestly doing a poor job) didn't even begin to move away and wallah, dead. Funny because up until that point with tethers I had no issue, it was only when being tethered with him.

He was an Astrologian too, so he at least has access to instant casting and thus had no real excuse for using the "I'm healing and casting takes time so I can't move" excuse.

    you both move.

    so you're both at fault.

As I thought. Nice of him to squarely pin the blame on me though.

If you care for optimization of dps? Melee moves to max attack range, healer moves more to break the tether. In a random pug party? Safer to have everyone move equally.

The chains can get quite long without breaking, so as much as I hate DPS downtime this is one of those things you both just have to move for if you don't want to risk wipes and raging.

Yeah, that's fair, admittedly I wasn't even able to move that far away from him before I did die... He was a pretty crummy healer and at that point had left me with 3000 HP before death... So yeah. :/

I honestly just think he complained about me because he felt insecure about his shortfalls and wanted to lay the blame at me even though he wasn't healing well, just to make himself feel better about his effort... :/

Yup, think you're pretty spot on with that one. There'll always be people like that in DF unfortunately...

I'm wondering why the healer was standing so close at all? XD. Usually I go and stand in a corner away from everyone unless I need to group heal. That way if a melee gets it they can usually just run away a little bit and the chains break. Granted stuff happens. I had a bard once get confused and when we got chained he ran right at me and killed himself and nearly me....Then we nearly wiped because I was laughing too hard to dodge. Its unfortunate that even if it was just a mistake they wanted to pin the blame on someone. But that is pretty common.

I honestly think he was lacking confidence in his ability to employ Ast well, which shows in him allowing me (and the others) to dip below half of our HP just after one of Chariberts arena wide aoe's, anyone good healing would have employed helios at that point but he didn't and yeah. :/

But yeah, he was just crappy and from the comment from the tank just before he left I think he also felt that the healer wasn't innocent either.

If you're all clumped on the boss' ass like good adventurers, the chains break near immediately.

Further apart you are from the person you're chained to when they appear, the further you have to run to break them.
