I agree. I personally made a thread about this longer than a year ago. We have yet to receive any form response. Hope we will get it though.

They responded to this issue most recently in the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXVIII:I agree. I personally made a thread about this longer than a year ago. We have yet to receive any form response. Hope we will get it though.

Q: I want to glamour equipment I use on multiple jobs on a job-by-job basis. Do you plan on implementing a feature to do this?
A: Minagawa: Unfortunately, it is not possible. This would require us starting from scratch, or developing an entirely new system. Inside the item data, there is one section which stores information on which graphic to use, and this data can only store one piece of information.
Yoshida: This is not to say we won't do it at all. However, doing so with the current system would require rewriting data for several thousand items, which may lead to bug-related issues. Therefore, even if we were to do it, we would need to come up with another method.

Then start from scratch then, but get it done. I know what's it like to rewrite thousands of lines of code as a result of a copy/paste error, and while this is not quite the same thing, what is the same is the demand for a finished and functional system.Originally Posted by Cherzy

If they can't/won't do it, then it is time for more job specific armor. A WAR should not have to look like a PLD or vice-versa in order to optimize their gear. Right now my healers and my gatherers have different looks that pertain to their jobs, but I had to get multiple sets of the same gear to do it. This is ok now at my level when the stuff is easily obtained, but what happens when the piece of gear is a unique and rare drop? Or if I want to give them specific melds?
Devs, this system needs to improve. I think I can speak for each and everyone of us when I say, "Please".

Couldn't they let us cast one glamour onto our job stone item then as a stop-gap measure? Add the appearance line to the stone and another 'this appearance always takes priority' line?Originally Posted by Cherzy

Wouldn't be perfect but I could make my tank jobs work well enough with one line I reckon.
I don't get why they had to rewrite all the items...
Just give us the opportunity to right-click on our job stone to open a 2nd gear window, where we can place gear on or glamour the 11 slots.
Those 'glamours' are written then into the not-changeable glamour section of the items Minagawa talked about, whenever you switch jobs.
I don't want to say it's 'ez', but I can imagine ways of giving us such a feature without touching the data structure of all items.
It's likely still quite sophisticated to program, idk,but I think its worth it.
