    Glad I found out now...

    Still dl patch after 11hrs..and it's only at 56%. Truly abysmal. Used to play FFXI and their support was non existant. It seems it hasn't improved. Ima still on trial account, just glad i found out things haven't improved much before I shelled out any mula.

    The game is F2P until further notice. What "mula" are you planning on shelling out?

    Hmmm. Definitely sorry to hear you are having problems with the updater. Have you tried forwarding your ports? I forwarded ports for FFXIV a long time ago and I download all updates in less than 20 minutes, since they all range 300MB ~ 600MB

    I believe the Official Updater uses BitTorrent, so you may not have enough people nearby seeding the update. Most FFXIV players have learned to use other BT clients to get the update due to poor performance from the Updater in the past. I'm not sure about the Official Updater once the game is running, but I know other BT clients will let you continue to seed the file after you've updated FFXIV and started playing. You will probably have better luck searching for instructions on getting the update using a BT client, as many people have finished patching already.

    Of course, I would never, never use uTorrent to download the patches. But it's possible that some people have used this thread to figure out how to do it.
