    Do you think FFXIV will ever have bosses like...(FFXI spoilers, maybe?

    Pandemonium Warden? I never played FFXI but I heard the story of how a group fought it for 18 hours straight and failed to kill it. Also there was another one I can't remember, some angelic thing that was practically unkillable because it pulled a Yiazmat-Renew whenever it felt like it.


    Given how FC's have the likes of T13 on farm, how would you feel about a "true" superboss in the game?

    I don't think there will be any boss like the PW that lasts that long, didn't they nerf that fight immediately after people got sick after going on for that long? I don't think they'll ever even implement single boss fights that last 30 minutes, and that would be awful in a game like this where one mistake can wipe an entire raid party...

    Maybe hunts with HP that scales based off the people attacking it or people in the area? Probably the closest thing you'll get.

    I'm all for some super difficult boss that is hard to kill, but a boss that survives an 18 hour fight?

    Hope you are ready for the huge amount of insults that is going to fall right on your head. FFXI is like Voldemort, you shouldn't be saying its name publicly.
    I have never played FFXI but from what I heard from my FC mates that played it or still play it, it had some nice ideas I would love to see here (for this people will probably burn me).

    T13 is now on farm, but before several nerfs happened, people had to progress it for months (talking about average statics like mine). Compared to that 18 hours are nothing.. but 18 hours straight.. that's insane.

    I will always say yes to more raiding variability. Anyways this game has a bit different playerbase and the concern lies in having as many dungeons as possible, not in raids and actually challenging fights.

    if SE want to implement something , Nyzul Isle , VNM , dynamis is the way to go.

    The playerbase wouldn't even get past the necessary mobs to even have access to fight PW or Absolute virtue.

    Besides both of the Expansion Bosses (PW and AV) took at least upwards of 25 people to kill effectively.. the legit way.. so if you ever see them it will be part of a crystal tower zerg fest. The rotation, smash buttons as fast a I can, type of battle system wouldn't support anything AV or PW brought to the fight. Both of the fights were skill based on how effectively 25 people properly worked together and timed the correct abilities. The only thing you ever time in 14 is popping buffs for a dps check.
    The sad thing is for anything to ever work in 14 from 11 besides "names" of mobs, will never work because the two games are to different. Unbeatable bosses worked there and for anyone who say they didn't simply wasn't good enough, now that's not a jab at anyone but the fact remains both bosses were beat, several times, just not by the majority. The game didn't depend on instances and it didn't simply throw a bone at hardcore player by just increasing the difficulty of the exact same fight you did previously. PW and Av were for the hardcore, it required you to get relic weapons, the best HQ gear from HNMS, the best gear from all the different dungeons etc. Not to mention it gave people something to work for longer than 3 months until all your progression is pretty much wiped clean. You honestly would be better of at trying to get them to implement something from Diablo than ffxi, the gear and character progression is much similar.

    I think it would be cool to have some fight in the game that is impossible to beat, always will be. If by chance anyone beats it, then it gets taken out, adjusted, and put back harder than before.

    It's a wild statement to make, but I seriously believe the Pandemonium Warden incident killed the concept of sandbox MMOs. Any type of content that compels people to fight for 18 (EIGHTEEN!) HOURS STRAIGHT should have lead to the person proposing such content being tossed out of a window.

    A ZNM-type hunting ladder might work provided certain parameters are set:

    *Currency needs to be convenient to get (That picture gimmick really was a total bust).
    *Intermediate monsters can't be impossible to fight if certain classes aren't present.
    *Intermediate monster drops need to be worth the trouble (No 1% drop rates, please)
    *The ultimate superboss needs to be beatable in at least one way.

    Only way a ladder would work now is if it was 100% drop rate for each step.

    Max time now would be 1h maybe 2h. But FFXIV doesn't fit that now.

    If I fight last to long TP and MP become issue.
