    BGM in Heavensward

    I just wanted to say I'm really happy with the way they handled BGM in Heavensward. Music doesn't loop in pre-HW areas, and already back in beta I was really disappointed about this. They last so short, then it goes all quiet, so it's hard to even remember the tunes. There was a thread about it back then, with several hundred likes supporting a loop function, but it was rejected.

    It seems the music in HW plays a lot longer, and the breaks are so short I barely notice them. The devs apparently designed the music in ARR to play only on occasion, so we'd hear the ambience. I think the balance in HW is nice - we get both ambience and enough of the music to actually remember it.

    So thank you for this welcome change!

    Yes, I really like that music plays all the time in the new areas. It can get so quiet and dull in the old areas. Especially at night when barely anything plays at all, it just creeps me out. :/

    I also like that dungeons (I think this started in 2.1-2.55 though) now have continuous unique music instead of an opening tune and then the same generic battle music as every other dungeon.

    This is a good thing, we need more of this.
    THe music is fantastic, don't get me wrong. But when I stray from a path, I need to hear the creepy things ready to strike.

    In 1.x the music would fade when you went down to the open world, underground dungeons. And that was very effectful. All you could hear was the echoing cave-sounds, no music until you either initiated battle or returned to the surface. I like that effect, but to me it loses impact when it's everywhere. :/

    Ye HW music is great , but ARR one great also , we just got too used to hear it (or not cause mount music) , Devs need to think about "option" to turn mount music off at all (while area music will take it place) .

    I was still super busy in game all the time. so much to level, kill, gather, running around, chat with friends... but whenever I stopped @ foreland on daytime. I always "ahhh..." then relaxed. take my fly mount for a little fly and swing with the music. I used to hate the music keep repeating (like the GW2 15 seconds repeat itself x4 then end), but soken show me the new view of this repeating thing can still have lots emotion inside... and waiting for the closed to ending that ... like hundreds horses running on grassland epic view type of excitement... then end with light touch....
    brb... heading toward foreland again...


    PS. ARR's south shroud... hmmmmmmm

    Forelands, Ishgard, Vault, mount music, new hunt music..

    Music wise HW is a masterpiece.
    I hope that I won't get bored of some of these sounds in a year or so.
