Materia IV became much easier to obtain, and the price is only even this high due to people buying them to combine at Mutamix for materia V.

I'm not surprised at the price drop, given that:

1. The crafted gear is in really short supply at the top end and has a bigger ilvl gap compared to tome/raid gear than usual, thus, less demand for the materia to meld onto raid gear.

2. If anyone was still doing relic progression and needed IVs for scrolls, they've likely stopped or switched to cheaper meld strats since they aren't going to be using the relic for progression = less demand again.

3. A lot of quests hand these out.

4. It's likely easier to get these by spiritbonding now.
