Personally, i use selene a lot. With rouse her embrace is pretty decent and its nice to have the aoe cleanse and her buff is decent on melee. I might experiment more with eos when i hit 60 sch.

Prior to HW, I was a diehard Eos user, as I felt the way Selene's Speed buff was structured made it rather underwhelming and preferred the extra healing cooldowns from Eos. I'm starting to use Selene more now, as Fey Wind is much more useful, and Fey Caress also gives her a great support option.
I hadn't considered using Eos in 4-mans and Selene in 8-mans, though, and I actually think that's a pretty solid way to go, since extra personal DPS is probably a lot more impactful in 4-mans than Fey Wind on just 3 other party members.

I do like Eos for 8man, especially when paired with an AST or another SCH. Pre-52, aoe healing is a pain, and even post, it can be troublesome, so Whispering Dawn is pretty helpful. If swiftfast is up, I will swap to eos for dps checks or when the boss takes extra damage followed by a period of dodging mechanics (Ravana's Swift Liberation). I like using Eos for Chrysalis too because there's so much going on and people ignore mechanics, especially for the time freeze part, because i think it benefits from the extended buff duration, making it last the whole phase.

I use Eos as my go to fairy these days, as mentioned, well timed buffs and WDs help me keep DPSing at times when I would have to be sat healing, A1 post split is probably the best example, if the siren isn't going, I'm in cleric stance DPSing.

The dps increase from Selene is pretty big. I use her for A1S, A2S and all 4 man content. While Eos helps a lot with healing I feel myself and my co-healer can compensate to not need her.
In A3S progression I have been using Eos. Her buffs really ease the difficulty in healing and my whm has been struggling with timings so she makes things a little more forgiving for us. I may switch later when trying to meet the overall dps check but then again I may not need her with the group's item upgrades.
In 4 man content I use Selene. I used to use Eos exclusively but since the expansion I switched to Selene.
If I had an ast co-healer I'd probably use Eos exclusively so I can handle all the aoe heals and for her heaaling buff.

Using/not using Eos also depends on how spread out the fight is and how much incidental AoE damage is coming out. She's great on A4 (where everyone is relatively clustered so that Fey Illumination/Whispering Dawn can hit everyone), but less so on A1.

I prefer EOS. Selene fey wind is a very minor boost (it only affects cast times, not dot damage, and very little...). Fey Caress is basically useless in 90% of the scenarios...especially the relevant ones.
For each time you'll hit an enrage timer of a boss at 1% with EOS, she will save you from 10 wipes, I honestly think the minor attack speed buff from selene doesn't make up for EOS superior healing. AOE regen every 60 seconds and a raid wide convalescence every 2 minutes is very very significant. Also, I find EOS giving myself more DPS windows, so in the end, I can add more damage myself than the one Fey Wind provides. Furthermore, EOS just lets my WHM breathe a lot more in savage and stay more in solo heal mode. The only place I use Selene is right before savage pulls, fey wind -> tank pulls -> swiftcast EOS.
Currently banging my head on A3S. I don't think any sane person would ever use selene there xD.
TL;DR -> for significant content and progression, EOS. For stuff in farm (coil with echo) or irrelevant 4 man dungeons selene can be an option.

Great feedback, thanks everyone. I do want to say I don't do A4 and will never do the savage version of any Alex so that's not a factor.![]()

I may get flamed for this, but I actually find Fey Wind next to useless, and doesn't seem to do much at all to party dps, and it's really Selene's go to ability. 3% increased attack speed (dot, ogcd dmg not effected) - so an extra gcd for everyone every 33 GCDs - except it only has a 30 second duration which is about 12 GCDs, meaning you don't get more attacks off when its up. Technically the "count" would continue upon recast, except most fights have pauses where you basically don't get to use GCDs so it resets the counter and the next time you use it, it's as if you used it for the first time again. Basically, it moves the damage table up fractions of a second, maybe 3-4 seconds off of a whole 5min+ fight but doesn't actually add damage. It's very weak, and should be buffed.

The math on Fey Wind puts it at about a 1.5% increase in party DPS. For something that you can fire off more-or-less automatically, that's a lot.
