So I know we getting the pet glamour but I would like to here what primals would be what? Ithink it will go like this.
Ravana- Dps
Shiva-Tank
Bismark-Tank
Ramuh-Caster
Leviathan-Caster
They should add mog as a glamour for the SCH fairy

they weren't announced yet and i don't think they're going to be any time soon since its still in the process of being made/sorted out
How about new egis in generalcwith new abilities not just glamour and looks wise!
There's not much of a point to new Egis unfortunately. Summoners are a DPS job. Titan is there for solo and emergency tanking, but otherwise it will always come down to "which Egi has the best DPS"? Adding more Egis isn't going to offer much in the way of variety because encounters don't really have the need for crowd control or any other interesting abilities.....we just need damage output. With a large list of Egis, most of them would just sit on the shelf collecting dust because there would be one or two that were most useful while the others just exist for the sake of existing. I'd rather have my job abilities be something useful instead of being overloaded with Summon IV, Summon V, Summon VI, etc.
Egi glamour is a consolation prize so that even though we aren't getting new Egis, at least we can have new appearances. I am personally fine with that as long as it happens someday ....

They are not going to make all those. It will probably only be Ramuh and Shiva and Carby for now unless they really surprise us.

That's no reason not to add more utility.
The best pet, DPS or otherwise, doesn't have to be the same pet for every fight.

I don't disagree that utility is nice to have, however XIV fights aren't really designed in a way that utility is necessary over raw damage. Fights are designed with generic DPS checks to insure that all jobs are viable all the time and no job is "required" for a particular fight.
As a Summoner, utility can't come as a sacrifice to DPS. Bards can temporarily sacrifice DPS in order to provide support to others, but can quickly return to full damage ouput. We can't just continuously swap Egis to access different abilities during fights without losing damage and starving ourselves of MP. It will still come down to which Egi performs best for DPS.
I just don't think an Egi is needed for every single Primal. 5 new Egis would be overkill and result in Summoners sitting on a bunch of abilities that don't get used often enough. We don't need Egis that exist just to exist.
Maybe I'm wrong and SE can somehow balance Summoner around having 8 Egis that are all equally useful whike also making them feel unique....Otherwise, that's a lot of ability slots used up on Summon IV - Summon VIII that may go to waste.

Like I said, the best pet (even for DPS) doesnt have to be the same pet for every fight. The nice thing is they don't have to homogenize pets, like they did with jobs, since we take them all with us.
Neither do we have to be stuck with the same 6s cast time all the time. Toss us a quick pet swap ability, and combined with Swiftcast, we have a way of dropping in a utility pet at a moments notice.
I don't think we need an egi for every single primal either, but 2-3 new egis would add good variety to utility and dps without adding undue hardship to design or balance.
