often triggered by a script parsing error---something may be breaking XML or something else in the Internet Explorer side of things.

Make sure both .Net 3.5 and 4.x frameworks are enabled and updated (appwiz.cpl from the run/search line, click link to turn Windows Features on/off--v3.5 may be listed under a legacy section).

Could have a malformed cookie or other cached file. Cleanup the IE cached files and such (run inetcpl.cpl from search/run box), also make sure your TLS options are enabled on the advanced tab. Worst case scenario, you may need to restore defaults, then go back and enable the TLS options. Couldn't hurt to add the frontier.ffxiv.com site to the trusted sites and such as well.

**note we are talking about Internet Explorer and not Chrome/Firefox/etc. The launcher relies on the underlying MSIE components in the OS--even if you have disabled IE through DISM and such, the launcher still relies on the things you manage through Windows/IE's Internet Properties pages, regardless of what you use as your default browser.

As always, make sure your security isn't interfering (double check for Windows Defender also--a lot of people don't know if it is enabled or not). If you are creating exceptions for the files in your AV don't forget to look for an option to create a network exception for running processes and add the FFXIV or FFXIV_DX11 process there as well.. This is a different animal than the flat file scan exceptions--it can still trap network access for the running process after loading (sort of like your firewall rules for a process). Again, may want to add frontier.ffxiv.com to the trusted list in your security apps as well.
