How about having a kick with a harassment reason impose a penalty on them.
How about having a kick with a harassment reason impose a penalty on them.

After reading this thread, and having a good laugh I have some thoughts.
1. If you constantly have people leaving your group, trying to get kicked, or ninja DCing it maybe a you problem (unless it's people leaving asap). Your skills, attitude, or poor gearing maybe the issue.
2. If you constantly have to use your vote kick, it's probably a you problem again. There just aren't that many people trolling dungeons.
3. More and/or stiffer penalties is a terrible idea. It'll cause people to do less dungeons or flat out stop playing. The current abandon party penalty is already to stiff. They should change it to if you leave 3 parties a day or a week you get a 30 min penalty.
4. A much better solution to people leaving dungeons is to reward players for joining a group in progress. Currently I never join a party in progress, because most the time people left for a reason. But say if I get bonus esoterics, law, xp, xp token I can use on other characters, or a loot token for gear that drops in low level dungeons, I'd que for in progress all the time. If you reward people for helping, they will be much more inclined to help.

I have to agree with 1. and 2. maybe sometimes it's good to look into mirror and say "Mirror mirror on the wall.. am I the idiot of them all?"
3. I would rather shorten the penalty if you decide to leave yourself and if kicked, you get a penalty that you can't join a dungeon for a specific amount of time. But that won't probably ever even happen.
4. and yes, if they gave us some short of "carrot" being rewarded for joining in progress I'd probably do it more often myself too.

I've never seen these issues in a roulette party before, but then again; I'm very good at this game.
OP, if you constantly having people asking to be vote kicked from your parties............. Perhaps you should think about WHY that is. That's not typical. Lol

I see you're also modest and fond of ad hominem.
Now we're in the "nobody listens to my excuses, so I'll just attack the OP" phase of the General Discussion thread lifecycle. Sigh.
It was a valid point, but nobody likes to accept their own responsibility in DF, so it falls on deaf ears. As usual. Hitting the "Unsubscribe" button now. Later forks.
I've never seen someone do a sit down but I have seen ppl instant leave before. But let my ask this if the first person that leaves gets a penalty but why not the 2nd or 3rd person? Or is it ok since they are not the 1st person to leave?
But if the person leaves the line still moves. Dps queues are not that long and people making it sound like only tanks and healers asking to be kicked. But once again people don't care about if a dps ask for it.
Agreed with pretty much all this. Both sides bring up decent points, but one side is coming off kinda self-righteous right now.
Also, the amount of people saying "I know innocents may unfortunately be affected by this, BUT..." is pretty sickening. I might understand if there was literally no other good option other than adding a timer penalty onto being kicked, but there have been far better ones (I do like the one that locks you into the same dungeon per roulette). I know this is confirmation bias so obviously grain of salt, but: playing since 1.0, tanking since 2.0, leveling/hard/ex roulette erry day - NEVER seen anyone ask to be kicked. However, seen people get dced at least a couple times a week. Most come back in a few minutes, some don't. I am not okay with having them finally manage to come back with a warm greeting of a penalty, and yes I am willing to assume that they are all legit dc.
