Yeah tbh if someone asks to be kicked I probably wouldnt kick them
Hell i left a party for the first time today and I just didn't care, I would eat the 30 min penalty if it meant not having to deal with that hopeless group for another 30 min.

Be careful people.
A while back I saw a premade of 2 DPS ask to be kicked. The healer and I refused, and they kicked the healer even though I voted No.
If they demand to be kicked and they're a premade, and you refuse, you may very well end up being kicked yourself.
Luckily most of the time when I see this, it's only one person asking to be kicked, so they're at the mercy of the group.
Shame I didn't report them. This happened several months ago. So it's too late now, don't even remember their names.
Seeing GMs reply that they can't do anything because of a difference in playstyles and such sapped my motivation to report people as well.
It's fine though, I've learned my lesson
If I know there's a premade, start a kick on them ASAP if they're causing any problems. I'd recommend others do the same as well, because the vote kick feature has a Yes bias. If it's 2 vs 2 people, whoever starts the kick first wins.
The person being voted on does not get a vote but the person starting the vote gets an automatic Yes...so, yeah.
I'd consider it harassment too. A GM is likely going to look at it from an outside perspective though, and in an attempt to be "unbiased", may be too quick to deem it a dispute rather than harassment. "Disagreement" and "dispute" are synonymous after all.
I've actually only reported someone once before for very obviously griefing in a dungeon. Not sure if anything was done to them, but the GM did not bring up anything about playstyle differences or player disputes thankfully.
The screenshot I posted isn't my screenshot by the way, it's just one I found in an old thread a while back. Someone showed it to me when I was advocating that people use the report feature, and I saved the screenshot to share in future discussions. I've also saved a few more related things.
I'm just hoping to spread awareness about this policy. It seems a lot of people don't know about it, and it's one of the most shocking and confusing sentiments shown by GMs in my opinion. Especially when you see the kick window have in big red letters saying that vote kick abuse is punishable.
Having that, then saying vague, broad things like "playstyle differences" and "player disputes" are legitimate reasons to kick is not a good combination. These two things can mean pretty much any kick is "justifiable".
Wow...you guys are mad that people don't want to stay in dungeons with you, so you come on here and whine. Then people offer differing opinions on the forum and you report them for harassment? I bet you're a lot of fun in the real world... /puke
It's like you completely missed the context of everything that was said in here.
Why do they not want to stay in the dungeon? How did they get into that dungeon in the first place? Why do they want to skip out on a penalty that's given for leaving a dungeon?

No I didn't bother to read it all because I don't really care if someone wants to be kicked and doesn't want the penalty. It's their life and if they don't want that particular dungeon then I'd gladly let them carry on with said life without making a fuss. I don't understand why you care so much when there are real issues in the world that are far more devastating to the human race than your need to control what others can and can't do.
What I do find more interesting is that you report people in this thread for harassment who disagree with you. What doesn't constitute harassment to you? If everyone agrees and does everything your way? Maybe you can make a thread of your dos and don'ts so we can know ahead of time if you approve.

Can't tell if troll... or...No I didn't bother to read it all...

I don't think anyone in this discussion, unless I missed something, has reported a player posting their opinion (without resorting to personal insults) regarding this topic for harassment. What are you even talking about?
Can you provide proof of this?

Can you please show where people said they were going to report others for having a different opinion? Don't act like you're somehow better than the other side.

If they add a penalty for votekick then all you'll see on the forums are people raging about how leaving a dungeon needs a longer penalty because they have nothing else to do besides make angry forum threads while waiting for a replacement healer to queue IP for AV. Blame Square for making such dungeons with totally bogus design flaws or the general playerbase for being so terrible at this game that most people don't even want to give groups who start those instances with them a chance.
SE will never be able to punish "meanies" enough for you to feel justified in your impotent nerd rage, nor would they ever punish those players enough where they will actually bother to modify their behavior. It's not like the game makes you sit in a corner for that 30-minute lockout and think about what you did. Either boot them or vote abandon when the option comes up.
...I feel like this thread is more about wanting to hold tanks and healers hostage more than anything. All a DPS has to do is blink wrong and they're given the axe. If vote kicks were really so precious like the forums want me to believe, why does the window pop up almost instantly anytime a DPS's connection takes a sneeze? (Had this happen in a Library run the other day; I, BRD, voted no, but the WAR and the WHM voted yes. SHOCKING, I KNOW. The other DPS had been gone no longer than 30 seconds.)
