Summoner. Nice and fun. Where is the glamour? Also can I really not use TItan?

So this is just so I understand everything, I recently started my SMN and really enjoy it, I would love to get the glamour system soon but eh, not a big deal. Why can't I use my summons how I want? Is Titan really that bad? I want real advise and understanding please.

Titan does way less damage than the other two summons, and should basically only be used when you're running around solo. If you're in a party and you keep Titan out, you're basically insulting the tank and insinuating that they won't be able to hold aggro (unless the party agreed to some strategy using Titan, which is a thing). Basically, in a party it's your job to do damage and the tank's job to hold aggro. Using Titan is reducing your damage so your pet can (try to) hold aggro. Nobody's going to like that because it drags out the dungeon.

Now, there are times even in a party setting that Titan is encouraged. As I said before, some groups will try to run with Titan tanking just for fun, but that's not a common use. The most common use are hunt mobs and Odin/Behemoth/Coeurlregina fates. SMN damage is crappy on those fates due to the debuff cap, but credit is awarded based on aggro, and Titan can aggro enough for him to be the preferred pet if you're going to do that content on SMN.

Thank you, I know about hate as I main a healer and all, I just really enjoy Titan, he is fun and cool looking, I do respect my party and use Ifrit, gonna start using Garuda haven't gotten her yet, do you know much about the glamour system? I am sorry but I feel like asking here instead of in game during dungeons.

I don't really follow SMN news, so I could be wrong on this, but the last I heard it was in the works? I don't remember hearing any definite date for it, so I don't personally expect to see it any time soon. Totally willing to be wrong on that, though.

Titan is your pocket tank. Since your dungeon parties will have an actual tank you don't need Titan and using it will prevent your tank player from being able to do their job properly.

Link? If they have scheduled** it for 3.1, I will be a happy camper.

** Yes, I know software development is a tad unpredictable so I can forgive them if they miss 3.1 and console myself with the fact that at least they had it planned for said patch
