personally I just laughed, I am actually levelling CUL next because while yes it is more time consuming to farm red scrips it pays off when it can cost virtually nothing as it is self sufficient with gathering. You complain about the others having "12" items to craft you need to use multiple crafts sometimes to just make one item as it takes items from multiple crafts so I could complain for example now I have weaver, carpenter and leather at 60 and guess what I can't make aurum regis nugget since I don't have a high enough gsm.

Crafts have always needed you to level multiples, CUL usually is the only exception as it doesn't require items from other crafts however they usually always get hit with having to do more to get the same, was the same with the mastery books making the relish required more work as it had a lot more items needed and needed HQ tomatoes behind a 1hr gathering wall. Wasn't so bad as I used to use the failed HQ ones to make cp food. To be honest if you only want to play CUL you can but you have to take the good with the bad, CUL is CHEAPER but REQUIRES MORE WORK.

Culn don't require anything from any other craft prof unlike virtually everyone else. Your subcombines needed are a fraction of what other crafts need. Taking a bit of a guesstimate off of memory as to lazy to check but your average crafting item for your 30-40 red scripts a week takes from 6-10 subcombines with the rare one being maybe 5. Culn generally takes 1 maybe 2 at most subcombines. Another prof needs overall maybe 25 mats to make one item while culn about 10 mats.

So how isn't this fair? The actual work involved is about 1/3-1/4th or less for a culn item and as a result get 1/3-1/4 of the red scripts. Now you say you can't go selling your wares like other crafts maybe but food is always needing more while a crafted weapon or armor won't keep needing more.

Everytime I sign into FF XIV (Subscribed again after loosing my "ability" to post) it's always Clam Chowder. I don't have a Fisher. So there's one thing I cannot craft unless I level Fisher.

Point being, I'm tired of being forced to level my crafters through gathering. It's wrong. When I have done all my gathering and done my crafting class, What then? Do it all again for the gathering roles themselves. Thats one hell of a lot of work over a total of 11 classes.

I don't want to buy everything of the Marketboard. I want to be self sufficiant. However it's impossible to be, without me spending months upon months of leveling roles I don't want.

No, that's not a lot of work. It's not work at all, in fact: it's a game.

Yes, leveling is a game you play, not work you do. How can it be work when you are paying to do it, instead of being paid?

Attitude is everything. The point of playing games is to have fun. So if you are logging into FFXIV to do work, you're doing it wrong and naturally won't enjoy it.

Perhaps you should try logging and and doing whatever you want at the time, instead of what you think you need to do. It can be watching the sun rise in Limsa, for example, I enjoy that occasionally. And when I do, I win.

Actually, it took me only about 10 days to level all DoH from 50 to 60. Yes, I did buy some items from the MB to do Fisher leves, but it really didn't take that long...

Miner and Botanist leves are not something you can buy from MB anyway.

If you use the Commercial Survival Manual properly, that 20 min can produce a huge amount of exp, and will cover 2 Miner and 2 Botanist leves at the same time in the same area. This can dramatically speed up leveling of MIN and BTN between level 57 to 60. You have 3 from each of the DoL, so you can use it 9 times for this "quadruple leves" trick. Together with the speed bonus from leves, it will send you straight to the heavens of 60 very quickly.

If you want to be self-sufficient, then you just have to put in the effort to level... This is no difference from saying "I wanna play end-game SMN, but I'm sick of leveling my Arcanist", or saying "I wanna boost my Monk's DPS, but I am sick of leveling Lancer for Blood4Blood!". If you want the result, then you gotta spend the time to do it. The "FUN" comes when the task is completed and you enjoy the results. In crafting, you actually have the choice to buy things instead of gathering... So comparing to DoW/DoM, you already have some alternatives to get away with things!

Can't agree more with this! I did enjoy my time fishing at Costa back then...
Although later I got lazy and started buying fishes, LOL!

Fun comes when you done it. Be nice to have fun doing these things. The crafting side to everything is becoming a chore.

Ohh great idea.... lets kill gathering all together and crafting doesn't take any mats because of course that would be *hard work* having to do something other then crafting so you can craft. Of course I'd expect you to cut your priced down to 10,000th of what your currently charging because after all you don't need any mats anymore so everything would be a profit gain w/o much work at all.

So, moving on down past the totally crazy and utterly stupid idea's...
