Barbershop

I've wanted and suggested a barber shop in ffxi (now ffxiv) since even before WoW added theirs. Barber shops are a great way to add hair styles and colors.

Also each town should have one and low level character should be free (1-4) then you start paying higher the lvl more is charged. This would help the econamy out since it will be a fun money sink.

stuff to change at the barber shop
1 hair style
2 hair color
3 (for men) facial hair
4(for men facial hair color
5 eye color
6 features (scars tattoos etc)

a full character remake with possible race switch is a bonus in my eyes.
can be $10 per 90 days. (if WoW can do this and have it be cross faction it should wwork in ffxi)

just because other stuff needs to be fixed, don't mean we can't have a nice discussion about it. SE wants anything that we will like and have fun with. It also majes community look much better if we are having positive discussions instead of negetive debates. Like other topics just because you hate them in past mmo.

I'm not sure what you mean by "10$ per 90 days", does that mean the change would be temporary?

nah just to prevent people changing every week or what not, change would be locked for 90 days is all that means

I'd like a Hairdresser class ;P wouldn't it be cool and totally amusingly flamboyant?

It could craft hairdyes or eyelenses, something like that. Items that when used, could change your appearance.
Maybe even equip a scissor and alter others' hairstyles ;P

This is one feature I've been waiting on for some while, but as noted it seems to have fallen on the back burner for now.

You can see my Miqo in my sig, I chose her hairstyle because it was an uncommon one and that eventually I'd be able to change it. No offense to Miqo/Mithra hairstyles, but the ones I like the most are the overly popular ones (hate being a copycat, mind the pun) and the rest are just meh.

But I won't like to be able to fully customize the character. Maybe just hair, tatoos and eye color.
I'm not with the Race change but well, If the implement the option I'm not going to use it :P

All I really want to be able to do, is look completely different from anyone else. I was quite surprised at the lack of customization when I first created my character. At least to me, it felt like it lacked a lot. Only a number of hairstyles, etc to choose from. But I moved on, here I am 6 months later still actually playing the game. So not like it was a break or make kinda deal.

But it would still be cool to edit my face more. That sounds weird. I don't know how else to word it.

I'd like to see a different take on the barbershop than in other MMOs. Cuz I think the game can sustain, like the example I gave for a class

I would squee with delight if such a feature was offered. IMHO Hyur female hairstyles are so . . . un-cute compared to all the other race's female hair options (c'mon, even Elezen ladies get pigtails!). And lalas just need more hair options all around.

I agree that it is a minor thing compared to all the things that need fixing, but you are looking at the back of your character's head for so long that it does make a difference. xD In fact my hyur's hairstyle unfortunately gets "eaten" by robe collars, which gets realllly annoying over time as I play primarily as a mage. ;_;

Bad idea. This is not world of warcraft. People would change their appearances every 30 minutes.

I say introduce it (since a lot of people are asking for it), but don't call it barbershop. And only let people change their hairstyle once a month or so.
