I leveled Ninja from scratch not too long ago and just skipped it completely, like others said you can just buy a weapon from vendor in Foundation.

Well, I still have to do the MSQ up to where I can get into Foundation. Will something just off the AH or a level 45 weapon work until then?
Edit: I checked out the Ironworks and no weapons were visible; On top of that, I have no idea what that currency is or how much grinding that would take, heh.
Hitting 50 in this game is really odd right now.
I want to say I got a level 48 weapon at some point while I was catching up on the MSQ and had that until HW content.Well, I still have to do the MSQ up to where I can get into Foundation. Will something just off the AH or a level 45 weapon work until then?

You will get full sets of ilvl 90 and ilvl 110 gear from the MSQ between the original ending and Heavensward, including weapons. You really don't need to worry about gearing up on your first job.
If you're a relatively well established player it's pretty easy; I'm maxed on poetics tomestones so I'm picking it up for my Scholar. You turn in poetics tomestones for Rowena's tokens of poetics in Mor Dhona (A-named girl on the right at the counter). You buy the ironworks weapons from the A-named girl on the left (third option down on her menu) but you also need an encrypted tomestone, which you get from the weekly repeatable quest that you can unlock after you've done all three Crystal Tower raids.
Otherwise yeah...as others have recommended, you can pick up the relic weapon and get it far enough to unlock the primals and get the Zenith version which will keep you just fine until you can buy/quest/get a drop for a 110+ weapon.
