Lazy players in dungeons.

I was just doing my Duty Roulette Expert, which was Neverreap on my main, DRK.

We had a nice SCH and a pretty good SMN. We also had this DRG who was doing laughable damage, so I noticed they never even touched Blood of the Dragon. Having seen that, I nicely asked them how come they weren't using it, to which they replied, in a rude manner, that they were "just trash".

We get to the first boss, I see them not using BOTD, *again*, and I pointed that out. I do not care about speedrunning, but I do not tolerate lazy behaviours. They started talking crap, even telling me how I was gonna be reported if I tried to kick them out, which I didn't, and that they were not gonna burn their BOTD on trash. They proceeded to link a Gordian Manifesto from Alexander Savage, to which I replied that it doesn't make them any better as a player. After a couple more pulls I couldn't stand that laziness anymore, so I just bailed.

Funny thing is I just finished a "The Vault" dungeon on my PLD right before queueing into my Expert, and we had a DRG that never, ever used BOTD. They said they were eating, to which he proceeded to laugh at.

I do understand this is DF, but when they're that lazy and excuse themselves in any way, it's not tolerable.

Please, try your best in even the easiest of the dungeons, not just for a quick run, but for a better experience overall.

This may be seen as either a rant, or a suggestion, or both.

I guess linking savage stuff is the new thing people use to try to say they are more important and better than other people. Linking that alone doesn't really prove anything since you can be carried by friends,FC or pay for carries. People used to do that linking some final coil ring or bracelet like "See this!? It means only my opinion matters!" or they'd inspect you like "So where is your final coil gear?"

If you were really so hot people would already know your name. Your gear doesn't make you good you yourself do.

According to their search comment, their DRG is ilv173, and WHM was something like 180, so even if they really got past any Savage floor, it wasn't with DRG.

Bah, what a frustrating experience OP. I'm sure no one expects other players to have optimal, flawless DPS in the DF, but it's nice to play with others that at least play their class to a fair level of proficiency. It's not as though there's some critical DPS check in the first three minutes of Neverreap they were saving their CD for. Trying to validate their underperformance by linking a Savage item is laughable. Laziness is laziness, and it's a disservice to the people you're partied with. Better luck next time!

I hate being outgeared by dps, but it's a rush keeping up with them and at least the dungeon flys by. People who don't even try to meet the minimum standard of competence are just selfish.

Ah yes, people who seem to think they are the best and should be praised for having raid gear.
Reminds me of that group of people standing on a platform in mor dhona earlier this year switching through all of their final coil gear and linking to try to show it off to everyone.
Friends and I started poking at them by linking potions and lv 1 gear. They got mad and started saying "WE AREN'T SHOWING OFF!!" Yeah, sure you werent

Very frustrating experience for sure. It is mind blowing that someone who has the ability to down alexander savage fights is so lazy outside of that environment that they are okay with wasting everyone else's time and their own time like that, just ridiculous.

This is why I'm starting to quit weaving roulettes in fate exping, too much apathy in wanting to kill stuff faster just because it doesn't have an enrage. I'd have kicked him after the threat.

Even 180 is low for doing savage maybe not so bad for a Healer but it was probably a carry. If you have skills you want to show them off why would you ever disservice your name by not using your class skills and making yourself seem a noob. And like I said when it comes to MMO's top players don't tell they show with videos of their achievements.

Thats pretty crazy...

I know whenever i queue DPS i'm doing my best to make myself look better than the other guy ( within reasonable dungeon mechanics). Maybe i'm weird but once i switch to my DPS class.... everything is a competition.
