The macro system itself is fine, it's the targeting mechanism that's a bit funky for healing.
If you target an illegal target to heal (ie: a monster), the spell would be aimed back at the caster. Same applies to your pets.

However, this does not apply if the target doesn't exist in the first place, thus the <mo> combined with <t> would work:
    /pac "Embrace" <mo>
    /pac "Embrace" <t>

If you haven't pointed your mouse at anything that can be a legal target, <t> would apply. But with some monsters being as big as they are or as close as you have to be or with people running all over the place, you have to really pay attention to where your cursor is pointing at. Even pointing it at your party list would trigger the <mo> line.

There is also the thing that the second line for <t> wouldn't be anywhere as fast as normal for some reason.

The whole target monster = self-heal makes <t> and <tt> on the same macro non-viable.

The most viable setup is to target all your heals straight on the person you need to heal. You can do creative things with attack macros. I put Embrace onto my Physick and Adlo macros, but not for the same reasons most do (range issues with auto-casting of Embrace).

In my signature, there is a link to a guide I wrote on faeries. At the end, I discuss my targeting macro setup. I basically use <t>, <tt>, and <f> for my attack macros.

I use "/merror off" for hiding error messages.
    /macroerror
    ALIASES:
     /macroerror, /merror
    USAGE:
     /macroerror [subcommand]

→Display or hide text command errors within a user macro. Any errors are displayed upon macro execution. Setting resets to on after macro is executed.

    >>Subcommands:
     on Displays error message.
     off Hides error message.

Toggle between on and off when no subcommand is specified.

I've combined <t> and <tt> on the same macro for Physick and Embrace by modifying this macro. It works for me but it has little practical use.

The bit for hiding error messages is very convenient. I use the same hotkey for Embrace <mo>, Aetherial Manipulation <mo>, and Draw <mo> (for placing my Drawn card).
