All tanks are not only good for basic content, but even endgame raids. So really, choose whatever looks cool or you think you might like.

PLD - Highly defensive, high mitigation tank. Has a powerful heal that can be used on party members, ability to shield all party members when healed, 'cover' to keep party members from taking hits, etc. Has defensive CDs that are strong against all attack types (although some are physical damage only). Slightly behind the others in enmity generation, which is relevant if you won't have the latest/best gear for this tank.

DRK - Decent DPS, MP management mechanics. Varied combos and active playstyle. Damage to enemies can restore MP and it can self heal a bit. Has especially good magic mitigation. Generates lots of threat/enmity.

WAR - Extremely high DPS potential, but focuses on the more traditional TP management rather than MP. Tons and tons of HP (but it also gets hit hard), including abilities to temporarily boost that HP. Defensive CDs are powerful but short lived, but they're ready again quickly as well. I'm not sure exactly how it compares to DRK but it's considered more active/involved than PLD. Also has pretty decent ability to turn damage into self heals. Generates lots of threat/enmity.
