Anyone else feel they were kinda lazy with crafting quests?

Not the storylines, of course, I feel the stories were great. Especially the weaver one (made me cry). But the rewards are so boring...when you hit 50 on a class in ARR and got your primary blue tool it felt like a real accomplishment, now it's just some materia...

I'm probably nitpicking but I thought the reward for hitting 60 would be just as good, so underwhelming to have to craft your own BiS tool.

Kind of, yes. I believe there's even one quest that gives you the NQ version of the HQ tool you had to turn in. But it's pretty far behind in line, behind the other glaring issues of HW crafting.

Ah yeah stuff like that was horrible too, there was also a weaver quest that had me craft some gloves and they gave me NQ gloves back...

I guess it's too late to ever fix this stuff but it's just so silly.

I was really disappointed with the quests as well. The least they could have done was give you an HQ main hand at level 60 or something.

Yeah I've yet to do my 60 GSM quest because, well.......why...lol?

I did the LTW questline first. Got to the final quest, realized I needed the masterbook. Jumped to the conclusion that "if it is gated behind a masterbook and requires a 1-star recipe, it is going to be something good." And I think I got a choice of a Tier IV materia... or a set of Tier IV materia. Not sure. Never did another crafter quest past that. I'm sure at some point they'll make something that requires you to do them, but they couldn't throw us a bone with this? Hell, how about making the reward 300 blue scrips? That'd be worth something to some players.

I finished the ARM one and then ignored all the other crafts' quests thereafter.

I enjoyed it, since when I did them I was already at the point where I had pentamelded all my pieces short of my tools. I farmed up all the stuff and just stocked up on CP Materia for my Main and Offhand for all 8 classes. Took a couple hours, got a lot of materia and it didn't cost more than a couple gil.

You should really do them for the story. The level 60 cutscenes in particular are amazingly well done.

Plus you know, the quests give free materia at least...

Materia is worth a lot more than blue scrips on 90% of servers >.>
