Undersized parties don't allow relic progress?

I ran Cutters Cry with myself, playing Talk and a friend of mine as a Summoner. We cleared the dungeon easily, but when we got out the dungeon wasn't marked off in the book. Unless you actually need 4 people for it to register, this will be very saddening if they keep the current setup of needing to be in a normal set up party for such old content to be done.

Did the boss have an icon above his head?
