Fates still do not give enough exp.

I know most of you won't agree, but I feel like its insane to require 60-70 fates per level.

It takes hours to do these things.

At 58, fates should be awarding 75-100k per fate, and 200k for the big ones.

Maybe I'm crazy. All I know is these fates are burning me out QUICKLY. I'm having trouble staying awake because I feel like everything is moving at a snails pace.

It's not particularly slow, but it's definitely a dull affair.

I feel like there's not a single source of experience that is actually fun to do.
You're either kicking puppies in the open world, or you're kicking puppies in an instance.

At least in instances you occasionally get a puppy that bites back, but even then, it gets dull after a while.

The leveling experience in this game is just really uninteresting.

What game has fun levelling tho? It's just the way the cookie crumbles in MMO in general. Even if they gave us a new way of lvling it would be cool for the 1st time thru maybe even the 3rd time but eventually people will get bored of that way and then we're back to square one that is the simple fact lvling is boring no matter the method or game.

i blame the fate scaling once the fate has scaled to an 8 player party it becomes extremely slow to the point where it's just not worth the experience gain anymore. i used to like dungeons like the vault but now i hate them because of having to spam them so many times.

Then break it up, do fates for an or so hour, then do roulettes, leves and challenge log (needs scaling though), then go back to fates, then go raiding/hunts (you are going need gear for that class you are levelling any ways).

The fact that FATEs currnently give more exp than instances is nothing but proof that they give TOO MUCH exp.

FATEs are hands down the single most dull way of leveling up and should absolutely not be the most effective. It should be something you do WHILE waiting for the DF to pop.

We could add a /level60 command to game, and people would still say it's too slow *sigh*

FATEs give the same amount of xp as the quest in the area do.

I actually liked leveling in FFXI. There are a few others where leveling isn't that bad of an experience, but it wouldn't feel right to list them on a squeenix board.

That being said, if we're defining fun as "more enjoyable than FFXIV leveling" I'd go with every other MMO on the market. Leveling in this game is terrible. I don't look forward to having to do ~6 hours of FATEs just to hit 57 so I can do another third of my level on MSQs and "enjoy" another 6 hours of fating. When scaling makes a fate take over 6 minutes of mindlessly pushing buttons, and they give around 1/90th of a level, something just isn't right.
