Do you read all the quest text?

I read MSQ and Class/Job quest texts.

I also talk with any NPCs related to said MSQ/Class/Quest since they say some interesting things before/after etc. I do skip most side quests texts though since...yeah, I don't feel like digging for the ones that are interesting to read (aside from new dungeon ones etc etc)

I understand that the sidequests you have to read but come on square enix you make enough money to make your main scenario quests voiced. I wont even glance at a MSQ unless it is voiced, this is modern days not ff7 days.

I fully agree with you and I would love this. Some clips are only partially voiced which I don't get. Just voice them entirely!

i only read the sidequests if they quest box comes with a picture- since those usually have follow ups lol.... rereading what i typed god i sound like a child with picture books

Pre-heavensward, I only read the MSQ, job quests and hildibrand. Very rarely did I read the sidequests.

With Heavensward I told myself that I'd read them all. And I did manage to keep myself to it. This was mostly to thank because the story and quests were great. There was only 1 very famous particular map where I started with reading them all and went "fuck this. I'm spamming through every fetch/kill sidequest! No quest image = I don't care anymore"

This was obviously Churning mists....Damn moogles...(Mind you, I'm looking back at Churning mists with a large smile. The fact it was so annoying, also made it so fun. Having the chat filled with people shouting their rage/annoyance in a funny way. And people shouting "Hell yes! Last quest! See ya suckers!" Followed instantly by "Fuuuuuuuu! More quests!" Good times, Good times...)

However my wife skips 2/3 of them. Then somehow known what is happening when I ask her about something.

Not only do I read the quest text, I talk to the NPC again after taking the quest and after completing the quest to see the additional dialogue. I also talk to an NPCs immediately next to them (i.e. appearing to be having a conversation with said quest giver), as they often have something flavorful to add about the quest. It (in my opinion) makes for a much richer experience.

That said, I am well aware that some people pick up the quest, complete it, and hand it in while I'm in the process of reading dialogue. And then they run out of things to do in-game and go into lawn ornament mode somewhere while I continue questing.

I read the MSQ and side quest lines and stuff. Anything that's interest. Most side quests though and the crafting quest lines and stuff is insta-skip though. They should have just hammed it up with some of these quests and given the NPCs lines like 'HALP I NEED <item name> PLZ GET!' and that's all the say *quest started*
