'Behind Enemy Lines I' Achievement Unclear and Contradicts Other Achievements

I was tricked by the description for the 'Behind Enemy Lines I' achievement.

The description reads "Guide any of the three Grand Companies to a total of 200 Frontline victories." I understood this to mean you could combine all your wins between the three GC's to contribute to this achievement. After switching GC to work on other achievements (only 30 away!) I was very disappointed to see this was not the case.

The achievement chain 'Between a Rock and a Hard Place I - V' from 3.0 have the same verbiage in the description - "Guide any of the three Grand Companies to a total of 100 Seal Rock campaign victories;" however, these achievements count wins from ALL grand companies and combine them for your total, contradictory to the ADS achievement.

SQEX, please either update the ADS achievement to combine wins from all three GC's (I would love you for this), or change the verbiage to read "Guide one of the Grand Companies to a total of 200 Frontline victories."

Is this a troll thread? You suckered me to respond either way so, any ONE of the three GC to a total 200 victories reads out as such; it doesn't say guide any of the GCs to an accumulated 200 victories between them

Sadly you're not the first to fall victim to the unclear phrasing, and there have been requests to change this since early this year when it was discovered that swapping GC's prior to attaining this meant starting at 0 (for a reason that I can't comprehend). I'm not sure why, at a minimum, the guidance wasn't updated as you suggested, as I've seen evidence of tooltips and other descriptions being updated based on players presenting a reason why they were misleading.

Well, they actually might have changed it from the original text which used the word 'combined' in a way that was misleading, I don't have the game in front of me to compare what was said then vs. now. But, 200 wins is 200 wins so I don't know why it works as it does.

I only made this post once I realized two achievements with the exact same wording calculated their progress quite differently. I still stand by changing the wording to better reflect the intent of the developers, as I see posts like this often.

IMO you are correct but OP is correct, too.

I checked on lodestone and found in Japanese, Seal Rock that one actually read as "accumulated N victories" while front line that one just read as "200 victories"

So the problem is the English version missing the word "accumulated" for Seal Rock achievements. And Front Line achievement is fine. ^^;
