In fairness, dark arts power slash buys you a long time before you need to worry about threat again. Sucks you have to burn so much MP to do it, but the buffer is so large you can cut the threat generated by a tank who refuses to accept that he's OT by half.

Dark Arts power slash changes the multiplier from 5.5 to 6.5. I don't see how that is a "long time" bought. I personally never waste the MP on it.
