Tank questions

Hi, first I would like to say I have been tanking for about 10 years now on WoW, Rift, and Swtor. I recently came to this game to play with some real life friends and found myself really enjoying it. I have been trying every class out so far including tanks. I just picked up paladin after rushing through to get DRK, but I have been noticing something weird about Pal, its threat seems weaker than DRK and War, I just wanted to know, am I doing something wrong?

You are most likely not doing anything wrong.
What you are most likely observing is the result of two things, intentional design and a potential oversight.

First off the design part.
DRK and WAR have a higher emnity multiplier on their emnity combos.
For DRK this is because they need to use their other two combos heavily to maintain MP for their abilities.
For WAR, they were given a higher multiplier because before they had to rotate through multiple combos to get the equivalent debuff effects that a PLD would get with the RoH combo which was their only 3-hit combo throughout 2.X.
Essentially they were designed with a higher multiplier because they were rotating between multiple combos while PLD only really had their one which was their emnity combo, so it balanced out.

Now the potential oversight. PLD was given two more combos which are not emnity combos and are expected to utilize them to maximize their dps. However, their emnity multiplier was not increased to compensate and so that a PLD cycling through their combos generates noticeably less agro than the other tanks.

Agro generation for tanks has been mentioned as a known issue by the devs and my guess would be that we will be seeing PLD get its emnity multipliers for RoH increased to be more balanced with the other tanks.

PLD is just a mess until 40, the other two tanks get their threat stances @ 30. Pld doesn't get it till 40.

This would probably be my issue only 36 at the moment.

That is one design I don't understand why they made you get your stance at that level. Wonder why the dev chose that level or was it just partly due to story.

Once you get shield oath life becomes better. Soldier on.

In fairness, dark arts power slash buys you a long time before you need to worry about threat again. Sucks you have to burn so much MP to do it, but the buffer is so large you can cut the threat generated by a tank who refuses to accept that he's OT by half.

Dark Arts power slash changes the multiplier from 5.5 to 6.5. I don't see how that is a "long time" bought. I personally never waste the MP on it.
