Joining the Spirit bug

I was doing the quest Joining the Spirit which is a catalyst quest to pick up a Calcified Matter, only thing is I fished for about 3 hours tonight and not a single matter.

I had my Horned fishing rod, crow fly and the ability Fingerprints of the Gods equipped but kept getting nothing at all.

Can you please fix this as it ruined my whole night since I refused to do anything else for my LS untll I got this completed.

I also tried moth pupa and a bamboo fishing rod to no avail.

I also had a friend try this quest in front of me using the exact same bait and rod and he got it in 2 minutes as opposed to my 180 minutes.

First, make sure you equip the new ability, and unequip all the others, so as to maximize 'kick in'.

Secondly, seek only the depth point that glows. I did this as Botanist, and it was @ +5 for me, and I completed the quest.
