What are people using their red scrips on for DOL?

Title says it all. Just curious. I mean, if I can mine everything in the game as it is at top tier why should I go for a tool first? and.. Would the gear not be only cosmetic at this stage? If you had already done the melds.

Or, is it for use for later on with the next major patch?

I am getting the Mining and Botany MH tools, on the theory that they will let me (with my current gear) get the Folklore RGS collectibles, and help me be ready for the next tier of gathering. I'm getting two crafting MH tools as well (since I've got no Favors to use those RCS with) ...

I'm worried that the next tier of gathering will require a full 2 star/redscrip set. I seriously hope that they either move the RGS/RCS materials (including Favors) to the Blues, or they remove the weekly cap, sometime soon.

Mostly I'm using them on favors right now, though I've got a bunch stored up because I haven't been grinding too hard on favors just yet. I've got a bunch invested in simply having a supply of favor items for each job and area so that I can have a favor going while doing gathering for other purposes wherever I go.

Assuming that the favor adjustment doesn't happen quickly and/or doesn't make things a lot less of a grind, they'll start going to the MIN and BTN mainhands and I'll see where it goes from there. Eventually I'll have some spare gathering scrip tokens lying around because I have no intention of going through the hassle of getting the crafted DOH mainhands.

I'm going to be getting the three main hands, then I'll focus on Favors. I've optimized my gathering gear to hit all necessary caps in the current patch once I get the main hand tools, and I really want to sink my teeth into Favors, but I also heard that Favors may be getting improved in 3.1, so I'm gonna hold off on those as long as I can.

Favors seem like a waste to me right now, so I'm gearing up.
I got the Miner body first because it's sexy as heck... and also i dont look like a borderline bot you can actually tell im a person i mean everyone looks the same in that ugly-ass cowboy gear now I'm being serious and getting the pickaxe.

I am very, very tempted to get the whole FSH set just for glamour if nothing else.

Remember you can always dye or glamour your equipment, even gathering equipment!
