Twelve forbid that. I already know people who would probably do... OMG, enough letting people grind.
the weekly cap ensures that the player flow is daily more than weekly and keeps subs going on. If tip-top gears were uncapped or bought people would just subscribe for a month in every second major patch. Economically that is bad for a developing company.

Then maybe bother atleast reading the thread before posting. He didn't write about any uncapping, but having separate caps for each job.Twelve forbid that. I already know people who would probably do... OMG, enough letting people grind.

It wouldn't change anything for people who main only one job. It would only give more freedom to people with multiple jobs.

I'm aware of that, thank you for your deepest concern.

But, people already unsubscribe after the first month of an update because lack of variety in things to do >_> Atm, you can literally finish everything for the week on reset day and have absolutely nothing to do until the next week. People want to pay to actually play the game, rather than paying to play ~3 days a week because they can't gear another job.
Allowing each job to have a tome cap would most likely increase the subs. It'd give people a reason to actually get on for more than just 1 roulette a day.
A lot of people seem to forget this is a MMO and not a facebook/mobile game. Yes, mmos have some restrictions so people don't fully gear out on day 1, but right now we have so many restrictions it feels like a facebook/mobile game. If people want to grind all day on other jobs for tomes for those jobs, they should be able to. Theres no reason to punish people who actually want to play the game longer than 45 mins a day.

i am with the OP, and his Points are valid.
To fully Gear one Job, you going to Need 6000 ESO Tome Stones which is alot, thats more then 13 Weeks of capping.
Lets say you have a favor for your tank (my main is PLD and DRK and i want to Level WAR aswell any time soon)
After 13 weeks you may missing 1 ring? as a tank you will probably go for 1 slaying ring as your second choice and that would mean that you will Need for a full ilevel 200 char 14 weeks which is a time Frame for over 3 months.
but make it a bit more complex. You are playing tank, you also go for STR set for different Encounters. thats Close to 16 weeks, which is time Frame of 4 Months all together.
out of my Point of view, the "People getting bored and leaving the game" is lame.
at this Point, i am pretty sure 3.1 will be near and new Gear will be aviable or atleast the upgrading items for you ilevel 210 Gear will not remain under "savage" only anymore.
Having a cap bound to each Job is no way different then gearing Alts in WoW. The different between WoW and XIV is that i Need 5 days from 1 to Level 100 or i pay 50€ and i Need 2 days from 90-100 in WoW, while i will Need probably 1 month from 1-60 inclduing all MSQ+Side quests which are necassary to continue the game (move on to HW Areas and all other stuff, like flying etc,..)
Have in mind that XIV is a 1 Character All Jobs System, while WoW is a 1 Character 1 Class, 2 crafting/gathering job System. (and SE should finally start supporting their own System at all)
It should be everyones own choice to gear their Jobs (450 each Job a week) with tomes as much as they want to, nobody can force and if you do it by your own mind or let you raid lead telling you what to Level/gearing next, then its your own fault.

I play only one job so I don't care, but this idea is not that bad and people are suggesting it for long time already.
Why are you able to have all classes when you can properly gear up only one. People in static cannot be even flexible with this system. Imagine having BRD geared with alex savage and eso items, I doubt you would want to roll over to healer and gear it up again from 0 for your static.
No one is forcing anyone to do more than 450, only people who want to do more are being forced to do less and choose only one class.
Stop being so self centered.

You can't just use a trickle down policy? Even if you play multiple classes, why do they all need to be in the best gear immediately?I play only one job so I don't care, but this idea is not that bad and people are suggesting it for long time already.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

When you are raiding savage (or even cob back then) you cannot reroll your job when you want, because you would just be undergeared (untill they get rid of caps) and would have to stop raiding for some time. Separate caps for jobs would let you reroll immediately (in case you kept gearing them too). For dungeon goers there would be probably zero concern in this, for raiders and such it would be nice improvement.
