Were gonna have threads like this every time new tomes come out? There is life outside the game, once you cap out go do something else for the week. If you make it where the tomes are seperate for each class, everyone is going to attempt it, then start making threads complaining its to much of a job to fully cap 450 for every single class a week. "Raise the amount of tomes we get" "Just remove the cap" "Let me share my tomes from other jobs!"

I barely even play the game these days but still hit cap well before the reset usually. A very casual player could benefit from this suggestion too since it's so easy to hit cap now anyways.

Making people who have more time to spend on the game, or people who want to play it more be forced to be done with things so quickly is silly. That's part of the reason I don't play much. I get done with things too early, such as roulettes. Then I have nothing to do left that I like to do.

The issue lies not with a cap but with the cost of gear in my opinion.

The way the cap is currently set, a player can only get a single accessory or belt with 1 week of farming. Anything significant requires 2+ weeks. For the hardcore players with multiple jobs this means that they are able to gear one, perhaps 2 jobs each cycle. For the casual player they may struggle to gear one (let's assume 15 week cycle with no removal of the limit part way, that's 6,750 tomes, or just enough to fully gear one job). This in turn could lead to frustration at not achieving something for that week (ultimately everyone is in it for something, and getting gear by farming is an achievement nonetheless).

Contrast what would happen if the gear were to halve in cost, but the cap remained. The players who cap weekly would be able to gear up in 6-7 weeks, which if they're also running savage doesn't seem unreasonable. The casual players would be comfortably able to gear a job even without capping every week. Alternatively set a sliding scale gradually reducing the cost of gear week by week. Hardcore players can gear early at cost, or wait and rely on beating content with lower gear. Casual players could gather at their own pace safe in the knowledge that it will definitely get easier within a defined time frame and it would benefit new players by reducing the upfront cost to catch up with the pack.

Each system could potentially reduce the alienation in missing cap for a week whilst still preventing content from being made irrelevant through gear.

Definitely agree, the Law Gear was priced much more reasonably. I can see why they priced Eso gear so high, and that's to keep people (like myself) who only play one class subscribed (although I'd stay subbed regardless) but when you have a system to allow people to play on every class with one character, they'd expect to be able to gear them at a more reasonable pace than 1 class every 3 or so months.

But to gear them all in the best gear possible? Having them all in range of i180 to i200+ is awesome! They don't all need to be in full max ilevel to make use of the job system.
At present you can have all jobs i180+. You can work on 1 job to be full i200+ if you want, another job could at the same time be full i190 now with another well on its way to it, while the rest are full i180 w/ i190 weapon.

Title aside I agree but then I have always thought I should be able to keep as many classes as I feel like leveling equally geared. Realistically I'll probably only keep my pld and nin geared but still I shouldn't need to make another character to keep both in the same ilvl due to bad game design desicions.

So long as my or anyone else's classes cannot gear up any faster than someone just playing one main class why can this not happen?!

i'd like it if they raised the cap to 500-600(600 is unlikely) but 3 weeks for a weapon? 6k estorics tomes for a whole set and its class limited capped at 450 a week

It use to be at 300, then 400, now 450... seems every time they raise the cap, people want it just a bit higher. Where will it end, even if weekly cap was removed, pretty sure someone would say the 2k overall cap was too low.

Right but if you wanted to run any serious content like savage no one wants to be in anything less than the best possible gear. That is what the problem is with the current system, no matter what you do your being forced to choose a main class instead of having the freedom to play any and as many classes/jobs as you choose to thier fullest potential. This wouldn\\'t be an issue to me if SE didn't present this false sense of freedom in the game and instead locked each character to one main DoW/DoM right from rhe start.

You can get around this of course by making multiple characters for each class you want to play but in a game where I can freely switch classes.... just why?

If you are pushing serious content you are going to be in a static where you have a specific role/job.
