Whats the point in leveling other crafts or jobs when you can't gear anything up because they're all locked behind time-gates.
It's an MMORPG. Maybe you're playing the wrong genre of game.

It being an MMO has nothing to do with using words like "outplayed" in reference to farming. You're not "outplaying" anyone by spending twice the time as someone else farming crystals or something.
Out-farming them, perhaps.
It feels strange in a game with this job system to encourage people to roll alts simply because of currency/drop design. Why not just level an alt if you wanted to get more esotarics for a different class per week?
Kinda brings us right back to the job system feeling like a bit of a gimmick just to get you to level more classes that you don't even intend to play, just because you need cross-class skills.

It's an MMORPG. Grinding/farming it is part of it. Pretend otherwise all you want.

Uh, yeah, and practicing is part of playing any sport, but you don't get to say you "outplayed" someone just because you practiced more. You have to actually show results in order to "outplay" someone else, not just brag about how much time you spent on it.

If they don't put a cap on tomestones then some people would grind out all the gear that they wanted in a matter of days and then complain about there being a lack of anything to do because they're already geared until the next major patch adds new dungeons, raids & gear.
While it is an artificial addition to this patch's life, do any of you really want to see daily new threads of "THERE'S NOTHING TO DO BECAUSE I GOT ALL THE GEAR I NEEDED IN A COUPLE OF DAYS"? Be honest, you don't.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
And if you had read the OP you would know that the suggestion was to give each class a 450 tome cap thus even IF someone would grind 4.5k+ tomes every week it would still take 10 weeks to get all their classes geared. If they don't put a cap on tomestones then some people would grind out all the gear that they wanted in a matter of days and then complain about there being a lack of anything to do because they're already geared until the next major patch adds new dungeons, raids & gear.

Yea and in 10 weeks they be back on here saying they have nothing to do. Or they say the cap needs an increase the fact is ppl will never be happy

they are done in 14 weeks if u take tanks as example with 1 slaying ring, if they aiming for more slaying parts then its 16 weeks.
16 weeks is fair enough to release new patches.
to be honest 13 Classes to Gear out means u Need to earn 5850 Points a week, and i am pretty sure that maybe 1% (or less) of the playerbase is willing to cap out ALL classes within 16weeks or is in the Situation to do so.
if they Keep the daily roulette daily per character, every other class u playing Need to grind the 450 w/o daily bonuses.
this has the same problem that someone else had already suggested. if the cap was set by class/job then tanks and healers have a big advantage over the others. until accessories and belts are job specific, this is a very stupid idea.
