new to this game combat questions

i play a mage or whatveer its called in ff

when i go to attack something i have to press say 1 for scourge then click the monster and click it again to confirm i really hate this....

is there anyway i can just click the monster hit a spell and it attacks or casts the spell? i hate having to click the monster click a spell then click the monster again to confirm and attack it anyway around that?

also anyway to keybind stuff to the razr naga?

It's hard to fight efficiently using mostly the mouse. I'd press the number key of the ability and then click your target or just press enter to confirm it. I understand this may be different than other MMOs, but it's how I do it. The confirmation comes in handy for fights with multiple targets.

The absolute fastest way to cast a spell on your selected target is to create a macro for it. For example, the following will cast Fire on your target as soon as it is activated.

/ac "Fire" <t>

The quotes and capitalization are essential, or it won't work.

F8 targets the closest monster (at least for me it does, probably depends on your keyboard setup in the config)

Then you can hit C to lock onto it and then your 1-10 (enter to cast) and it casts on it. Z sets AoE if you get links.

If something linked while fighting, and the first dies, you can F8 again to target THAT monster and start fighting it.


You can also tab around to pick who you want to fight. And in party, F1-F10 etc keys link to the person in the party depending on the order on the list.
