A savage static without a paladin

Paladin is just so good as an MT I feel like a group without one might be gimped...and if you had this comp, who would be a better MT?

The MT in my static quit the game today so now I'm brainstorming for stuff to do to resolve this. Wanted some opinions, because I know a couple warriors...

All three tanks are excellent in both, the MT and OT positions.

Not having a PLD will only mean you might want the WAR to MT some fights instead of the DRK.

None of the tank compositions is gimped in anyway. Unless you're running doubles then you risk limit break build up issues.

Maybe it's more flexible than I thought...though an offtank paladin sounds odd. I must still be in the 2.0 mindset.

Former static was MT WAR-OT WAR at start then I swapped from WAR to SCH and we got a PLD so we were MT WAR - OT PLD. The pally took a game break we got another WAR again. The OT WAR swapped to DRK in Heavensward till we disbanded lately (some other story).
I don't see any issues in any combo seeing that were our compositions SCOB and FCOB echoless.

Unless you are on EU server, latency is killing their optimal play for most as there is no way you can weave 2 oGCD's durning GCD its just impossible(NiN is on same boat due mudras). So because of this MNK is actually most optimal melee class for EU players if you are suffering from heavy latency/delays.

Wonder what you talk about I level mnk for fun and am on an odd connection that makes me lag in the evenings currently... my DPS is shit because I rarely get to activate 3rd skill of combos and keep GL up

as pheonica stated , shouldn't be an issue. a lot if not most tanks have multiple tanks leveled, myself included as i like to mix it up on occasion. just because you see other groups (world/server firsts) clearing with X-job composition doesn't make it the only possible way to defeat a certain Raid- play to yours/your groups abilities and go with what works best.

My statics MT is a DRK so it's definitely doable. Just takes some adjustments on your healers part but you will lack some utilities in exchange for slightly more doable dps.

I don't even watch the top groups or anything, more just...I thought paladin MT was a required thing. I haven't paid much attention to tanking changes since HW dropped, I admit.

Can't hurt to give it a try.
